I am not aware that it is a violation with the MLS. It does show total unprofessionalism.

Why on earth would someone set hours for their own open house and show up two hours late? I really don't get that.

I doubt MLS would do anything about it, but it could be considered a violtation of Truth in Adverising, and its unethical and unprofessional.

Is she just one of these special people that thinks only her own time is valuable?

It is really not a MLS problem as much as a poor business decision

I don't believe it is a violation. However, it might eventually run the agent's reputation within the community.

Chris - Not sure it is a violation of the MLS, but I would certainly call the agent, and depending on what they said, call their broker as well. It is just unprofessional, and puts a bad light on our profession.

In our association it is not a violation; however not a good business decision.

I'm not sure if it's a violation but it's certainly not a smart decision.

Good morning Chris. That sounds pretty dumb, if it happened on a regular basis, I would file a complaint.

You would need to review the rules for the particular MLS. Each MLS has its own rules.

Chris Mamone It may not be a violation of the MLS guidelines - however, it does reflect on the agent who was 'MIA'!
And opportunity to get in the door for a serious agent.

I don't know what the rules of your MLS are, but it sounds like the agent is not reliable.

Not a violation, there is no "punishable" MLS attendance requirement (one can get sick or be involved in a accident at anytime), except for the expectations of the public/client. Best to have contingency plans like an on call agent to serve or simply post a notice on the door and/or Internet.
This agent should change her starting time to 1 p.m.

In what capacity are you working with this agent? That's just unacceptable and I wouldn't have anything to do with this agent. If you have a broker in common, I would certainly bring that up. Gives the brokerage a bad name.

Not really a violation, just unprofessional. Im sure that if the homeowner finds out, they would be upset. That's the kind of thing that gives real estate agents a bad name.

I would think clients would be trying to get out of listing agreements en masse considering they've probably super cleaned the house and cleared out for the set amount of time!

I'm not aware of it being a violation, but I could assume that it would be damaging to his/her future business.

Why doesn't the person post the correct hours? That is so dumb and such a poor decision. It's bad for her clients and the buyers as well as that person's reputation and ability to attract future clients. Very dumb.
It's so easy to correct.
