Personal preference Gabriel.
But since you asked, I use: iphone, laptop (car) and desktop at the office.
I'm an HP guy in desktops, Toshiba guy in laptops and net books and Apple for phones. For better or worse, those are my defaults.

It depends on the purpose.
We have found that the Mac platform is more reliable, requires less updating, and has a greater longevity than the PC options out there.
And - what Ken Jones said...

It depends on the person. I use a laptop - currently it's a Dell.

I am a laptop "girl" and what brand depends on what is right for you. I have a tablet and rarely take it out. Between my laptop and my smart phone I'm pretty well covered.

I've tried Apple, however Apple and I do not get along. I know people who just love the product and swear by it. For me its a PC and Toshiba is my choice.

Just curious, but you are saying you don't have a computer at all? I would not go out and buy something new just because you are becoming a realtor. Don't take on unnecessary debt.

Good morning Gabriel. Currently using a HP laptop which I bought January 1st. That is what I have used since they have been out. I pick up a new one every few years, as they are pretty inexpensive at this point.

Good morning Gabriel. If you're on a limited budget than go with a laptop. I like Mac products.

It depends upon how you will use it, your budget, your background at using the various types of devices, the applications you require and so much more.

I'm a Dell Laptop man and just don't get the Tablet. To me, it's just a giant, useless IPhone. A Laptop is just as mobile and does what a desktop can do.

Gabriel,
Go try them out, you are the best judge of this. We like apple for their service and reliability, plus all our devices are synched, and that is important to us. A

I would recommend if you can afford it to get a MacBook and learn to use it. It has almost no problems and that will simplify your life.

If you are comfortable with an ipad that is what I would use. I have several but I am a pc girl. Never got the value of using an ipad.

When starting out, use what you have already. When you are making consistent money, then you will have both the money and experience to know what you want.

I prefer a laptop, but a tablet is more portable. I think you will have to decide what is going to work best for you.

I think it depends on your preference, but you can be fully mobile with your laptop (I use HP and have been very pleased this last year). But I also use an iPad heavily when out showing property and when traveling. It's tied into my iPhone so as long as I have phone access I have WIFI for my Ipad

I would go with a laptop. You don't need to buy a $3000 apple though. I just bought an 15" HP with 2TB hard drive and 16GB ram for $1000 that is every bit as good as an apple.

Gabriel - Well since you already have an Apple desktop, and are familiar with it, I would recommend an Apple laptop. I feel that tablets are too limiting as well.
6,616,279
I have found Dell to be the only reliable laptops, and I am loving my new Surface tablet.
617,935
Gabriel,
I think you will find a tablet too hard to use. We do a lot of typing. You can get a good laptop for around $300. Go for it.
1,529,664
Gabriel, my recommendation is a laptop. You NEED a full fledged system for a lot of things and one with power. Tablets won't cut it. Plus, a laptop can be taken to an appointment if you feel the need to do a listing presentation with pictures and stuff.
The only tablet that MIGHT suffice, is a Windows Surface because that runs the Windows OS. It may still be lacking for tasks such as image editing, etc. Plus, on a personal note I have a 23 inch monitor. I can't imagine doing work on an 11 inch tablet all day. My laptop has a 17inch display and that feels small some days.
As to brand, I'm a PC guy so I'm going to recommend Dell, Toshiba, HP. I'd avoid Lenovo simply because I don't trust those that make them. Apple systems run the same chips as PCs and are more expensive. Save the money, go with Windows.
1,677,896
We are totally Apple with no regrets. We have all types of Apple devices.

On a limited budget, I would select a laptop. The choice is yours, but it would be beneficial to select a brand you with which you do not need to have a learning curve. I would avoid tablets unless you can afford to purchase both a laptop and tablet.

Gabriel Misters I use an iPad, but I purchased a Bluetooth keyboard and it works and looks like a laptop. Do your homework. An iPad has no USB ports or storage device. Everything is done through synchronization, Dropbox and iCloud.

Personal preference Gabriel Misters Whatever you feel comfortable using.
I have progressed from PC to laptop to iPad and soon to tablet.
Surface Pro 4 coming soon to Yonkers office.
