A Rainmaker is a paying member and/or one who has accumulated 500,000 points....and at that point, the membership is free.... the main reason to secure that position is to have your posts indexed by Google....without that, you're posting to other members on this platform..... not productive until you reach 500,000 points...

being an Ambassador is just a position to give guidance and answer questions for other members.... to promote ActiveRain, etc.... those tasks can and should be done by all of those members who are qualified to do them......one does not need to be an Ambassador for that.... I like to think that I participate in that every day..... and I have no need to be an Ambassador.

    While walking across the parking lot to the Fresh Market one afternoon, I got a call from Kerrie La Guardia.   "Fred, I talked with Bob a little while ago... we think you would make a good ActiveRain Ambassador.  Would you like that?"

    "Yes!" I replied.  "It would be an honor."

Ambassadors were hand picked for their helping others although I know a few rainmakers like Barbara Todaro that has gone way out of her way to help others excel.

Rainmaker: Someone who chose to pay AR to have their blogs indexed.

Ambassador: Someone AR chose to help guide and run the community.

Anyone can become a Rainmaker. You have to be among the selected to be an Ambassador.

Ambassadors are there to help out when needed and answer questions.  If you want to be an ambassador, I'd say contact Kerrie.  Oops!  Not Kerrie but whoever replaced her.  Or Bob Stewart.

Rainmaker is a membership level and being an Ambassador is an appointment position to give help to other members.

As an Ambassador, we sometimes get to see behind the curtain at what's going on with the platform.  We are also here to assist anyone with questions or direction that they may need.  I love being honored with this gold star.
