No. Every time I have been in a leadership position, I felt the goal was obliterated by the egos of those who were also in those positions justifying their existence. Nothing ever got done right. Microcosm/macrocosm.

yes, i've often considered it. i think the lack of action would seriously frustrate me though. i'm a problem solver, elected officials seem to just prolong problems and never really focus on solutions.

i'm speaking at a political event this afternoon representing small businesses attempting to get our local officials to fully fund the school budget (after 9 yrs of cuts, arts, music, sports at risk, class sizes will increase, teachers won't get raises, lots of talent leaving the county)

Yes I would, making speeches and speaking in public is fun.  I would love to be on the debate stage running for President of the United States of America.  I'd be a tell it like it is and a compassionate conservative with liberal leaning on the Arts.  I would never be so arrogant as to tell a women what to do with her body.  Although I went through the drug era of the 60's and loved weed I would not be on the side of legalization but having it as a misdemeanor.  Marijuana does lead to harder drugs, been there, done that.  Same sex marriage, we've all had to evolve.  I feel that a minority should consist of all people from different cultures and not just black and Hispanic.  Borders?  Of course the need to be closed.  Why should one country take all of the empty seats?  Let's be fair to all people around the world.  Religion?  Define it! National Language, duh, English

I was on our hometown Village Board for a while, but chose to end my career there.  At least for the time being.  I never say never ... but certainly don't see it in my future at this time.  Even in a small town, the Village gig was a pretty frustrating one ...

I have considered it and I can get more done by staying out of it. Now my brother is Mayor of a city and he runs it very well I must say. My son, who is a prominent attorney, feels the way I do and doesn't want to be tied down
