Bob,
I just think that may help, but what would really help is understanding that one does not print money to solve a deficit. One cuts back and does not keep asking the taxpayers to help. We need to audit the government by a CPA firm, and then make the cuts. A

Good morning Bob. I don't think any of the fools on the Hill took economics. The only thing that they understand is that there is an abundance of ink and paper.

Oh crap...I dropped out of my first economics class. The first day the professor made it seem over my head.
My grandfather ran a successful string of businesses up and down the Mississippi River and he didn't even graduate high school. He's my main motivation in life.
People in his area wanted him to run for local boards and offices. He never did. He didn't like the politics.
So I don't know is my answer.

I'm not sure anyone learns much at all in Economics 101! But anyone in high office ought to surround himself with people with PhDs in Economics, if they don't have a grasp of the subject.

NO.
A good measure of common sense is all that is required.
Running for public office puts 'common sense requirement' in question. Lacking the common, it matters not what other qualifiers or letters are appended to the name.

I think a MPA is a requirement to get a public administrator job with local government. Only US will allow a C student and a former cheer leader to be in office and bring us into a Great Recession.

A political question, how interesting. Just ask any politician, they know how and what to spend our hard earned money on better than we do, that is as long as it isn't their money....

No need to know about Economics to run for high office, unless the office has something to do with Economics.

I have any number of economics courses under my belt and an MBA in finance, and all I remember from Econ 101 was the theory of supply and demand. And what does one consider a decent grade? In our household our kids were told no grades under a B+ was considered decent. But some would consider a C a decent grade.

Bob, actually I would rather have ALL high school students in America have a decent grade in ECONOMICS and AMERICAN HISTORY as a condition of earning that high school degree!
There has been a growing trend of censorship and de-emphasis on the importance of the principles that have made America the GREATEST nation on earth in the education curricula in the past three generations in school.
Let's once again start at the ground floor and work our way up!

No, they should have run a for-profit business successfully for a long time. That's the best teacher of the market system that I know of. And that is absolutely not an endorsement of DT!!!

Why bother, just print more money to buy bonds to float the government. It has been working for generations. What could go wrong? An economics 101 coarse would get everyone confused and take away time from all the social events and fund raisers that must be attended.
