It's not a great place to start if you have to convince a bank that has money to lend, to qualify a buyer that needs a mortgage.

Interesting. Looks like Deanna Early has a good answer. A qualified buyer means a deal for both sides!

Your banking system is different from the American system. I find there are four banks in Domenica and from my end it looks like the National Bank of Domenica would be my first choice. Most American lenders use a basic information sheet (mini app) that Realtors can give clients to fill out and return. I would suggest you check with the Domenica banks to see if they have a similar form. I would also ask locals who have previously used YOUR banks to do financing what they thought of the lender they used. Identify the best lender available and become their best friend. Good Luck !

If the bank can't figure it out, go on to the next customer!!

If it requires convincing, you are using the wrong loan officer.

Good morning Jillian. Your system is different for sure, I would meet with all banks that are near you. I would build a good working relationship with as many of them as possible.

How interesting. I never had to convince a lender to take a client in here. But I do prefer working with smaller brokers, since they are more aggressive in business( usually a buyer gets better terms and more attention, and I'm updated promptly on the progress).

Jillian La Rocque not sure why you should convince the lender for a buyer. Buyer needs to provide documents to the lender and lender should do the due diligence...

Wow. I'd recommend pointing out that your buyers would be pre-disposed to using them and that they might be able to beat someone's loan rates and get their business (from reviewing a buyer of your listings).

I don't understand why you would have to twist the arm of bankers to want to lend money. If that is the environment you have, I suggest you partner with a national company that is interested in giving mortgages to qualified buyers.

Hey, if they don't want to loan what points could you make? Not sure if lending works for each system.

Your profile reflects you are 'real estate development resource.'
It seems you are neither an agent or broker.
It is unclear to me why any lender would want to engage with you.
As a agent or broker, you do have critical mass related to your business volume that would get any business persons attention. This could be a case where you may need to change your audience.

Hi Jillian are the lenders not as willing to lend unless you practically are a cash buyer?

Jillian La Rocque I don't think you have to convince them at all. If they want you business they should work with you. I'm not familiar with the rules in the VI, but I believe they would benefit from your potential clients.
