I'd let that faux investor know that we have to break up so he can run another realtor around.

I don't work with anyone who is concerned about the profit of the seller. Seriously. None.of.their.business.  Being a know it all just makes the pain that much deeper. NEXT! 

Just like lenders and loan originators, different clients like different connections.   I can't satisfy everybody ( I can't believe I'm saying that ) no matter how hard I try !

When it is obvious the connection just isn't there; it's time to bow out gracefully  and professionally !   It isn't always easy but it is the best YOU can do for YOUR client, . . . . . and isn't that the goal after all ?

I don't do well with so-called "investors" I have buyers that invest in real estate but they're usually doctors or other professionals or business owners with cash to invest but they rely on my advice, expertise and guidance since they're busy at work.

When they call themselves investors with no other occupation, with little funds and are looking to earn a living by investing in real estate that's usually a red flag. They took a course in investing. 

If I can't manage their expectations  ( and they're "know it alls")

I simply say:  "I rather let you go then let you down"

I'd politely fire him and give him my competition's info.

I get so sick of people worrying about how much money other people are earning. Yes, sounds like I would fire the one you describe.

At some point if someone isn't willing to listen to reason from a professional you'll only be wasting your time. I'd drop them too.

Good morning David. It make sense to fire clients that wastes our time.

This  doesn't have to be an "investor type". We recently had a seller know-it-all and she wasn't worth our time..We RAN AWAY!

Sounds like they are not experienced real estate investors. Really, quoting Z and T for statistics? I'd give them a verbal cold bath of reality and tell them if they want to believe those sources I'll step aside and let them make the wrong choices with another agent. 

I agree,  I have had the same experience with investors, except for the part about Zillow, because Zillow wasn't around then.  Maybe that's him!!!!

I'd get rid of them too.  Although in all fariness, investors do worry about the bottom line.

There are so many investor types in our market.  Sounds like this one is inexperienced and may cause you a lot of wasted time.  

fire him - you are right to move on and get him out of your car - the annoyance factor alone is enough reason to cut him loose - and then think of the time you are wasting when you could be filling it with someone who wants to buy and respects your opinions

Well, does he really know what he's talking about? He's a pretend investor that's out trying to get a start. Send him on his way or put up with him.

When they quote Z, they loose all credibility.

If you gut is telling you to fire him, don't overthink it.  Our instincts are often more reliable than our intellect.

David Barr great call.  We are the professional and if the client won't acknowledge that they best be a seller or a slam dunk buyer.

I trust your judgement.

What I would do is not take him on in the first place, because I would ask him those hard questions first, and his answers would show that he is someone not worthy of my time.

Interesting, I have one of those and now we are in escrow. It took a bit of negotiating but the buyer is not stupid. It is a good investment. Zillow has it's uses, I find, in that you can point out specific fallacies in their Zestimates. Hang in there! PS. We are already looking for more properties for him.

Seems like he might be taken too much of your time that you can be investing to other better clients. so maybe it's time for to say: "hasta la vista baby"

Some investors can be difficult. I have sold properties to many of them.

yeah, i'd fire (and have fired many) anyone that is not reasonable.

 Sometimes we need to take two valliums and roll with the flow.

 I think there may have been telltale signs of this and I would Have walked a long time ago 

Did you ask how many investment properties he bought? He sounds like a freshly baked investor after one of those seminars.

I don't know this client well enough David but it sure sounds frustrating.

It sounds like you are at cross purposes and cannot work together. Let him go and move on to someone that you want to work with.

I hate clients like yours so I should fire him but it could be a pay check I always tell myself.
