Some days it is a little of both.  Mostly, it is mentally tired. Last night I was fried.  I kept pushing myself to complete my tasks on my list ... but the brain just was not having it. Brain won. I stopped pushing and had a Margarita.

It seems the less I do physically, the more exhausted I am at the end of the day.  

What an interesting question. When I'm working with clients, I'm mentally exhausted at the end of the day from being 'on' during the day. When I'm sitting at my desk writing, I'm physically exhausted, even when I take regular half hour breaks. But I think a lot of it is just plain old getting old :)

mostly mentally. We realtors do not do much physical work out.  My client wanted me to crawl into a tight crawl space. I merely put my hand inside the hole taking some photos with a flash..... It is hard on termite and home inspector though... My lowest fee inspector raised the asking price by $100 he said take it or leave it (cash only).  Yes, we get stressed out... In our line of business often things get canceled.

We love our work Paul, and there are days, when we are mentally spent...so we have yoga, meditation and a long walk on the beach to handle all that.  A

well, I'm always physically energized....I worked out twice during the day today.... not mentally tired either.... 

There was a time when I left early, got home late and was both physically and mentally exhausted. Woke up one morning and changed my life. No regrets on this end!

Mental exhaustion, because I am always thinking even when I am supposed to be relaxing.

It depends upon the particular day and the activities done during that day.

More mentally than physically exhausting most of the time...I hate those nights when I am so tired but cannot fall asleep because my brain will not shut off...

         I have to force myself to sleep most nights.  I will look at the clock, it's way past midnight and already into the next day.  I think "go to bed", or I won't have the edge I need tomorrow.

It depends on the day but I am not totally exhausted at the end of the day because I love what I do.

Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington.  I've worked other jobs where I was both, and some long days when I was just 'physically exhausted'.  Love putting my head on the pillow and 'going out like a light'!  As opposed to 'thinking' and tossing and turning . . .   Sounds like a past job for you had crazy hours . . .    

Tonight I'm both physically and mentally tired. It was a busy day at the office and then, in spite of the very cold and high winds, I took Lucky to the doggie park for a run. I walked quite a bit and threw the ball for him. No other dogs came to play, so I got more of a workout today. 

Lately I have been both. I need to have a little physical energy left so I can start working on my garden. That tends to help the mental fatigue.

I have loved real estate since day one, thirty years ago, and not regretted one day.  However today I just teach real estate classes part time

I am both at times.  but I would much raher be physical

I felt the same in Corporate - it was more intense, in some ways, and more stressful. I often worked 55-60 hour weeks. On a really intense day now I can feel mentally pooped at the end of the day, often not till 10 PM or so

Mentally exhausted usually consistently wins that contest.

Depends on what was done that day. This job requires both physical and mental work.

Depends on the day, if i work on my mac most of the day, it is only my brain that is fried...:) 

I've worked in Corporate America (Merrill Lynch), in a restaurant (Friendly's in NJ) and in Real Estate. I enjoyed all of these vocations for different reasons. Some days I would and still do come home exhausted. Just depends on the day.

I am much more likely to be physically exhausted @Paul.

Working in real estate every day, it is mentally exhausting, especially working with several clients a day.   Wednesday after shoveling 14" of snow, I was physically exhausted.

Some days both, some neither.  Lately mostly physically exhausted.

I actually had this problem many years ago. I discovered that leukemia was the cause after going to the right doctor. Fortunately, my treatment was successful.

Since I'm always up by 4am, I am both physicaly and mentally tired by 9pm.

Completely spent, both physically and mentally.

Mentally, once I sit down with my laptop I get reenergized.  It's best for me to shut this off at least by 11:30 pm.  Spent 9 hours showing today, now I'm here. Early day tomorrow, have to leave home in 7 hours.   

Depends on the day.  Yesterday I was in CE classes all Dwayne men was so tirdImwent to bed early.  Must have been mental.

When I was young and in international public relations and advertising, I was working long hours and it was exhilarating. Loved it. With real estate, I'm more in control and can take little mini breaks ie. sitting in front of my computer rather than running around. It also helps that I am my own broker, so I can go at the speed I want.

Rarely if ever.

I like to say I never get tired but I do.
