I had a listing of a well know international celebrity couple that had a nude photo of the themselves together. Tasteful, beautiful, exciting but appropriate for strangers to see?
I asked them to take it from view and volunteered to house it at my place until theirs was sold!

Yes. And it was disgusting. People need to realize that if they want to sell their house they want to prepare the home with a sense of "Welcome Home" and not a vision of "Let's get it on!" I have one goal in mind and it is "Let's get is SOLD!"

Yes, and the showing was short-lived. The house was impeccable, but the buyers were focused on the pictures. No sale!

Someone here on AR wrote the best post about 'No Nudes is Good Nudes' which is about that subject. LMAO & is one of my all time favs about this subject.
I reblogged it & every year I get a few calls about the subject that major papers/blogs are writing about it.

It hasn't happened yet. I had a seller who had some pictures that we agreed should not be displayed once the house was listed.

One had had a couple of paintings - the artist's name was the seller's. They were pretty tasteful, as far as nude paintings go, but probably better removed from buyers' eyes!

No but I did ask my seller to remove a nude painting on black velvet of his wife..... Nuf said! Except - I did sell the house and I liked the seller despite his taste in paintings.

Yes, guess the sellers didn't depersonalize or desensitize the home.
Since one of the presidential candidates has wife whose nude photos have been all over the internet, will her nude photos hang in 1600 Pennsylvania if he is elected?
How will guests at State dinners concentrate on business and food?

In the heart of Columbus Ohio was the home office for HUSTLER magazine.
Entering the lobby was a huge portrait of the receptionist, back to audience, throwing a birdie at the audience from between her legs.
Some 30 years later I walk into a West Chase home and 'Yowwie!" There is was! The subject of the portrait, and the owner of the house were not exact matches, but the tweak of a smile confirmed one and the same.
I did not get the listing, but I did get one heck of a story.
What I was doing in the lobby of Hustler is a different life and new story.

No photos but one home I showed had a truck parked in the garage that had a quite explicit nude painted on the hood. It was unexpected, awkward for the buyers and I wish the sellers had covered it with a sheet or something.

I have shown one home in Rancho Sante Fe with a live nude woman, that was exciting yet a complete embarrassing panic. I've seen boudoirs photos in homes but not nudes otherwise.

Paul,
I have seen some tastefully done. It really does not bother either one of us if we are looking at a house. We are not buying the pictures, we are buying the house. I am more likely to be offended by taxidermy all over the house.
I do understand that some potential buyers would be offended. Perhaps the listing agent could call the Vatican and get some of the fig leaves that they discarded after using them on sculptures and paintings.
Have a great weekend, A

Yes, doesn't bother me. They were paintings, not photos. And the house wasn't full of nudes, there was just one here and there.

I have shown a home, where a nude photo was above the bed and very embarrassing to buyers. As a listing agent, would always recommend taking down anything that could possibly offend potential buyers.
3,986,529
I showed a house where the sellers were both nude in different rooms. Passed out middle of the day
824,029
Love the answers and no, I haven't. I did preview a home recently that the listing agent boasted there were over 500 pictures of the family displayed and while I didn't stop to count them, after viewing the home, I believe her.
3,988,144
No I haven't as most agents do a pretty good job prepping the sellers to remove distractions like this.
1,549,870
Was it tasteful nudity or graphic? I've never seen this and I don't recall general nudity beyond church pictures (cherubs, etc.) in artwork.
934,060
No, only some nude art. Why can't buyers focus on the home itself? Leaving those photo's up may be inappropriate and in bad taste (sellers' choice!), but it doesn't change the structure or the layout of the house! I am not condoning the practice, but isn't this equivalent to leaving because buyers didn't like the color of the walls?
2,810,604
Hi Paul - We listed a place that had several nudes of the owner. We suggested that she take them down, but she wanted them up. Weird, but the place sold.
216,960
No, but I certainly would hope that an agent would put something in the remarks section of MLS, so you can prep Buyers. The Sellers clearly felt comfortable leaving it up, so perhaps there was more to it.
1,762,198
Strange, very strange, indeed. Were they good photos? Just wondering...address?
5,311,938
3,454,821
No, I have not. I did run into a naked seller as he was hopping down the hall putting his pants on. Nothing like the real things ... baby.
2,377,400
As Lyn Sims said, No Nudes is Good Nudes. Can't imagine why they think that is appropriate or beneficial. There should be an X rating on the listing to be sure no children are taken to this property!

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington - I know how our clients feel when they see this. I haven't seen anything like this, yet.
The only thing we can tell our clients, do not go by what you see. Go by what you want to see in this home when you own it!
2,722,933
Something is in the air. I showed two different houses to two different Buyers... both of the houses had nude photos of the owners prominently displayed.
One of the houses was "Listing Agent must accompany"; I pointed out the photo to him, he quickly diverted my Buyer's attention to something else. But they had seen it; it was a turn-off and a deal killer.
291,019
No, I have not seen this yet Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington. I guess Previewing a house first would have helped, though I know that is not always possible. Apparently it wasn't listed in the 'Remarks' Section, so maybe the Seller never thought it might be offensive to some? I would have called the LA, also.
