Everyone became so sensitive to religion and are too worried about offending someone these days. A girl can't even carry her pistol anymore when visiting the Cherry blossoms like she could do in the 50s!

It's way less celebratory in feeling than it was in the 1950's and 1960's. I haven't bought a new Easter outfit and hat probably since 1966.

Those were the days.....

It is a big deal in that we welcome any and all family to share the day with us in person or on the phone.  The joyful laughter is that happens is what is most important to us today.

Easter will ALWAYS be a BIG day ! 

It is a big deal, but not as big as when my daughter was young. At 15 I could not even get her to make Easter Eggs with me last night. I was thinking of hiding eggs for me to find just to keep the tradition up. 

Michael, oh so true! It is now not such a big deal. In my youth, a new outfit and church was required!

It is always a big deal for me because of what it represents.

I try to keep up the tradition and my family appreciates it. This year we had a friend of my daughter's from the Ukraine and she shared with us that their Easter is the first of May and they share/exchange a special baked bread, color hard boiled eggs and have a special meal. She loved our Easter egg hunt and will share with her family next year!

In Europe, it still is.  Monday is a holiday as is Good Friday.  In Costa Rica and other countries, the whole week leading to Easter is a holiday.  Happy Easter to You.  A

No holidays are a big deal anymore - really depressing.

Maybe some of the ladies will remember that this was the 1st day we got to put on those white patent leather shoes for church.

It was another day of the week but with chocolate.  

It is a "big deal" but I feel like it was bigger when I was younger... New outfit was a must & I remember a lot of hats and gloves at church. Life WAS slower so maybe that was part of it...  Maybe.

No, not much. When my kids were younger, it was much more fun and preparations. 

Easter is special for me. Sharing Easter Sunrise some place in nature (here on Kauai it's at the beach), then breakfast and some planned activities.

This year it is just another day, sort of.  I am busily studying for my post-license broker exam and am in a time crunch.  We will sit together around our little family table this evening to enjoy our Easter Repast

Well...today it will be just another day...my sister and niece left this morning so we had our "Eater Lunch" a day early!

I don't buy a new Easter bonnet, but it is still a special day in our home!

Times have changed ... PEOPLE have changed the time. Focus has shifted. I preferred the days of my youth.

We appeciate the day, and it's meaning. No need to commecialize it.

We will be wearing jeans to Church.  It's not about the clothes it's about the heart and what it holds.

It's just another good day! The resurrection should be celebrated by a believer everyday. Same with V-day, I don't need the excuse of Valentine's day to show the LOVE!

My area is one of the most diverse areas in the entire world with a large immigrant population from numerous countries.  As a result, many different holidays are celebrated by different cultures, religions etc.
