There is a lot that must be done, a lot to learn, misunderstanding to overcome.

A good mentor will prove helpful. Otherwise a person starting out in real estate may find themselves attempting to catch smoke with a net.

Starting? I still often have that feeling...in Real Estate and in life in general. 

 That's a great analogy Kevin.   There are going to be times when it seems the ground is moving against you and you are falling backwards but keep on trudging forward because when you've been at it a while, it will become easier to conquer.   Consistency and persistency are the keys to success.   Hang in there and best of luck to you.

That's a good analogy. And sometimes there are days when it feels like that and you've been in the business for a while!

Keep your head up, find what works for you as far as lead generating (some things don't work for others) stick to it, and use resources you already have. Talk to your neighbors, preview properties in your neighborhood. Share knowledge and experience, not just your business card, Stand out! And don't pressure anyone into working with you. If you lay your foundation out right, you will have people coming to you. You can do this!

It can though I love sand dunes, just not running up them - HA!  Seriously, it is not an easy career field, even if you like people and enjoy Marketing homes.  Hang in there, and know that working hard will pay off, and be patient, because it might not happen right away.  Having a good mentor and someone that you can talk to, helps - Best of Luck Kevin Morris!

I had fun running up and down the sand dunes.  I ran up and down the County in Real Estate, but didn't have to wash the sand from between my toes.   lol

It's been long ago for me and I remember excitement every day and feeling like some days I had on a blindfold and didn't know where I was going.

It is difficult when you first start out, but it will get easier for you. The learning curve is steep.

Sometimes yes.  Sometimes like diving deep and running out of air.  Sometimes like you're Atlas pushing that boulder to the top of the hill only to slip at the last second.  Sometimes, like soaring with the eagles.

Yes, and when you keep going, you end up getting there. I have visions of climbing the sand dune from Carmel Beach to get up to Ocean Avenue. Oh, and the more you do it, the easier it gets.

I did not feel that way.

It does at times; however the income opportnities and independence makes it worth it.

Sand dunes are must less challenging than a career in real estate.

It can, Kevin Morris. Sometimes beginners have a few transactions from sphere of influence early in their career and that can feel more like solid ground.
