Yes, I remember this and was shocked.  I remember the Brady Bill, too.

I remember the Brady Bill was passed in large part because of that tragedy.

Yes ma'am I do.  I was in Barbara Burton's American Government class in the 10th grade. We had just been talking about the "curse" of presidents elected every 20 years in class that day and then went to lunch and someone who had a portable radio outside at lunch came in and told everyone.  They closed school early that day because the president had been shot.

TMI. the reactor containment contained the radio active water.... Very primitive containment and faulty valve. Poor operation.

   John Hinckley should be executed for what happened to President Reagan, and to the Secret Service Agents, and to the others wounded on that tragic day.

Has it been that long? I remember thinking that Reagan would not survive and was thinking about the Kennedy assasination.

Deanna, I remember the incident. I didn't know it was today.

I only remember watching news reels of it (at the Reagan Library most recently).  I was only 2 when it happened...

That was a twisted event.  Hinckley said he did it to impress actress Jodie Foster.  Brady did survive the incident, but was paralyzed and reportedly died decades later of complications from the event.
