I've been in this business a long time and have witnessed many Realtors suffer through bad health, divorce, money issues, family issues . . .
my definition of "Success" is to live a happy & healthy life with as little stress as possible.
I accomplish this by having my priorities being Faith, Family then Career! I am very protective of my time and do not allow my business life to intrude on my personal life.
My clients seem to value this as much as I do and I've found Like attracts Like!

I have to agree with Susan Emo here ... Success to me is not $$$ and high volume production ... it is living a happy, healthy and joyful life and being able to help others along the way.

Contact, Care & Community. Everything that sets me apart is within those three departments. Yep, they're not just words, they are departments with systems in my business. Oh and, I run my business like a business, not a job. Which means, I can still earn income, while away for periods of time. Susan Emo just put up the best answer, I defer to hers as the best way to be different (be happy & healthy).

Recognize "red flags" should they make an appearance, and have the ability to "remedy" the issue before it derails a transaction. Real Estate. It's What We Do. Best!

I don't really compare myself to other agents as I do it my way and work with those that I enjoy.

We become more interested in the Buyers and Sellers than the homes we are isting or selling. Friends are forever!

I enjoy what I do for a living and my wife is 100% on board. Our joy for the business and the clients we serve seems to come through.

Different people use different definitions for "successful". I don't compare my success to others.

Marketing, connections and proper pricing. In addition, customer service.

I really care, go first on risk, give all I got and want the best for all

Ditto to what Candice said. If an agent can answer their phone or return calls in a timely matter, they already blow away 75% of their competition.

Look around you at what your competition does for clients and what it does not. Then, make yourself a promise that you will do at least one thing new each year in your marketing or customer service or other areas of expertise that competitors are not doing. Clients (and future clients) will eventually see the difference on their own.

I assume your question is specifically directed to an outcome of greater than the minimal six figure gross commission income and not so much about the fulfilling experience of living a relevant life.
Of course 'revealing' would make it available to everyone else. So, that seems to be an awful lot to ask of the owner of a business.
My success if very much depicted in the 'REMAX' commercials...doing what ever it takes to meet the buyer or seller goals. However, my secret sauce includes the transformation dimension they will experience along the way.
That transformation can be the result of empowerment, enabling, informing, desensitizing or even disconnecting.

I don't know that it's any different from other successful agents, but I'd say giving amazing service and treating them like family.
