From what I understand, I think the students are all taking an online course, and I don't even know if they have actual contact with an instructor. I know we see the same questions over and over again, but the students can't help that. They are just following through with their assignment.

I'm glad they are asking questions on AR and not z or t. At least we can give them educated answers and I do care about them. I'm hoping these students do get their licenses and become sharing members on AR. What is the difference between these students and a newly licensed member that asks questions and wants advice?

It wasn't all that long ago I was new to the business. No one helped me. Instead I felt like everyone had a hand out and wanted a piece of me and my money.

I'm happy to help the students. We all talk about sharing information and helping each other out, so why don't we extend that same courtesy to the students?

Fred Griffin  in reading your question and comments along with Lise Howe 's I understand where those duplicating questions that I kept seeing were coming from.  Who knew a Utah school was using AR as part of their curriculum?!!  

My personal feeling is we are the experienced ones and while I don't always answer them, I think they have a right to ask their questions. I think Christopher Ward will not overreact again, and I, for one, think we still need to be the adults.

Do any of them actually get licensed?  Become productive agents? Contribute anything useful on ActiveRain?

great question! I am going to ignore all their questions from now on.

I haven't checked Zillow to see but my guess is that this is the only platform they are using.

Who knows. We can ask them I suppose. I suppose AR should be flattered they are here, and not on Z or T...unless they are!

The students all attend one specific online school.  When I read the school's website a number of months ago, it said that part of the course was to interact on a specific real estate social media site, ask questions etc.

I think, we are the lucky ones. Trulia used to have nice A&Q, I liked it...

Perhaps a note to AR managemnt about the issue is apprporiate?

You know, Fred, I hadn't thought about this until now but I still receive emails from Homes dottt comm with consumer questions for agents to answer. Some of them are along the lines of what we see here so not sure if it is coincidence or something else...

I am curious to read if any of the members who asked questions several months ago have now got their license and have rainmamker accounts now.

I don't think Z and T are good sources for learning. AR is and all of us can just skip the questions we are not interested in, not need to make it an issue.

That's interesting!  The Utah students are always asking us questions, but since you are wanting information from them, you have 35 comments, and none of them are from Utah!

If it's part of their course work, I would question the value of the course. As a rule, AR members are always willing to help but the repetiveness of these questions and sometimes the typical textbook scenarios are what gets me.

what a great question....I never thought about that!!!  some are thinkers here, some are not....  I'd guess "no" to that question...

I answer questions on both other formats and have not seen them. 

I think we should be flattered that they consider ActiveRain the "go to site" for online real estate information.

The Utah School of Real Estate has identified ACTIVE RAIN as the voice of the real estate professional.

Easily the school could direct students to the dark side to engage with those who dwell in it's dark places who pay Z-devil thousands of dollars each month.

As more and more do turn to the darkside, the reality that REALTOR, NAR and the local MLS are impediments to the solutions citizens seek. This is inevitable, but we can certainly expedite the transition by driving the innocent into the arms of Z-devil.

Be careful what you wish for.

I have no idea, Fred, as I don't follow question on Z&T. That's a very interesting question. I have a feeling part of their course work is to get on some real estate platform to do so.

I dont check out the other sites so I would not know.
