As many as possible! A vacay can be a 4 day long weekend for me or up to 2 full weeks. After that I get ansy about being away. I would much rather take 10 mini vacays than one big one a year.

Once a year I go to Russia to visit family. That's pretty much it outside of an occasional trip to see kids and then the trips aren't much longer than 4 days or so.

Whats a vacation?

My life is a vacation!   When I compare what we do, to others caught up in a 9-5 drain, I'm forever grateful!! 

Today for example, I'm visiting a few multi-million $ waterfront beauties.  The sun is shining, Spring is blooming and life is good!

Not enough. 

We take at least one, but probably 3-4.  We have family in the Iowa area and either go visit them, or have them come here.  We also have family in the Houston area-they are more like mini vacations.  Enjoy your time off!

I do not really get to take long vacations.  In February i can usually take 5 days off when things slow for winter. During summer a long weekend is a blessing

I like the mini-vacation idea. Sometimes the four-hour drive to my office on Lake Superior feels like a brief vacation.

I used to 3 a year, since I got into RE I'm lucky to get one!

Depends, only when it's slow 

 I take a lot of breaks during the day... kind of like mini vacations... every day all year long.

I take mini vacations....long weekends.... we're all too busy but enjoy what we do, so we can handle it with mini vacations...

Not often enough - usually one week, plus another get away for 2-3 days.

We do mini vacations and try to do a longer one when it is slow.  If we can combine with business all the better.

Probably two true vacations. Other times I may be away on business.

Once maybe? We are lucky enough to have a lake home though, so I use that as my retreat. I may still be working there, but it's still my calm place!

Every morning when Larry and I go for our walk along the beach.  And then we have the annual Family Obligatory Tour, followed by our personal sanity trip.

I the try to take off a few days each quarter. Once or twice a year I may take a week at a time.

Not enough.  I will take a couple days and not work to energize myself and get back into the business.  

We generally take one 2-week vacation a year on the motorcycles, and then many weekend trips of 2-4 days either on the motorcycles or in the Jeeps. Both of those pursuits are pretty much tabled this year. Saving up time and money for a 23-day trip to Alaska next year.

So, this year just one 1-week trip and then local Monday day-trips (hubby has every Monday off so I'm taking them some of them off the from the day-job over the summer). Also, I hope to be spending many Saturdays and Sundays this year servicing real estate clients.  :0)

Time off is good for recharging, even when you love what you do - changes in latitude can reinforce even a great attitude!

We take about 3-5 three day trips and recently a week off but that's not a guarantee.

If we are luck, we may take a day off during the year.

As many as we can fit into our busy schedule.  Last year four each two-three weeks long. Still love being home, too

Hi Praful - Usually a big one around Thanksgiving, because that's when things are slowest, and if we're lucky, maybe a few 3-4 trips when we can.

About once per decade I tear myself away for a vacation, but I do take many trips for business on a regular basis, and they are always enjoyable.

Usually one.  I'll take some mini ones here and there (day at the range, few hours with the phone off at a movie or the gym).  I also don't answer the phone or check email after a certain time and I take weekends off from general emails.  Offers and new business gets handled, routine stuff waits.

4-6  where I'm off the grid, no phones, no computers for work related activities.

2 vacations that last 7-10 days.

2-4 long weekend mini-getaways.

Typically 3 of a week or so, plus a few long weekends. 

As many times as possible.  I have taken three since late September, one long one and two short ones.  I am leaving for Florida, to get married and go on our honeymoon cruise the Friday.
