many times, I dont worry about nasty anonymous comments.  It reflects more on the writter then the intended target.

Sure but there is never going to be the interaction like on FB. Just doesn't happen in all the years I've been around.

I don't know if consumers get ping backs to their questions either so they might not know you even answered.

Jack Lewitz - I am yet to see a comment from a consumer - however, my market reports get +1 on G+ and likes on FB!

I disabled comments from the public many years ago due to inappropriate comments I was receiving!!!

I do get emails and calls from consumers that are productive;  blogging makes my phone ring and my heart sing!

Our exposure went Nationwide. I'd almost say somewhat viral whence I joined the Trulia Q/A forum. It was an open to the public platform and drew us more exposure and leads that converted to biz than any other media, including our own website, that I know of.

That stated, I was hoping that someday AR would open to a public consumer oriented Q/A forum but then that's what led to the downfall of Trulia. They became inundated with SPAM and SCAMs so much so that it finally brought the platform to its knees and they had to disolve it entirely.

I just wish that there was a way to make AR a more accessible open to the public forum and be able to control all the rifraf. But in today's cyber World that's not very likely.

Yes, we have.  We have had some really good ones too. And of course, some not so good ones:) Such is life.

On my blog no. But when i post them on Facebook yes. AND always hear comments here and there from people who saw/read my blog.

I have received only 2 or 3 comments from the public here on AR. But ... I know that I have received calls and contacts as a result of my posting here, Jack. I'll take the public taking action and reaching out to me in that way over a comment any day.I've found that leads and contacts do come my way via AR, blogging, and social media activities. But not typically in a singular way. One builds upon and compliments the other. Accumulatively they work.

Agree, it would be nice. I have received comments on my localism posts, mostly questions regarding events.

Very rarely.  The most commented was a post I did many, many years ago about AHS home warranty.  I still get consumer comments.  

Yes, I have received several over the years. Problem is you cannot really respond to them except in the post because they don't usually leave any contact info. 

Ha!  Over the 9 years I've been here I've received 2-3 comments from a consumer.  Most of the time they mention that they read my blog and call me directly, but most of it's other Active Rainers.  

Every now and again I hear from a consumer in the comment section.

Yes, I have, then turned public comments off. Anonymous people hide behind their keyboards and write some pretty hideous and hateful stuff.

They don't write comments (it may be disabled), but I do receive phone calls on my posts which is even better than the written remarks!

When I was an active agent I got a ton of business from my blog but very very very few comments.  I think people come to your blog for the information then want direct contact to deal with their specific needs.  

I dont allow comments from those who do not sign up.

I have received a number of them (several dozen over the years) but they are kinda few and far between these days. I prefer getting the calls and emails instead

Not recently but many students in the classes I teach say they saw my posts online before registering for class.  I forward my AR posts to other sites and ask local HH managers to share on their sites.

Back in the early days I received a phone call from a Short Sale Seller because of a blog post - closed for around $350K as I recall...
