Yes, and I'm sick of it. I just canceled the upgrade they had scheduled without my permission.

I used to get those notifications all the time... I found a root hack and stopped them... sorry I can't remember how... maybe do an Internet Search for "stop Windows 10 upgrade".

I have been reading in several places that it is coming, with a few more adds on the start menu.

Thankfully not. There are registry hacks you can do to prevent it. I've done it on mine and really should do it on my parent's systems. MS really overstepped their bounds with this.

Carol Williams - I think you can turn it off.
After certain date, free upgrade will not be available -- and using Windows 10 - it's not that bad!

I get them all the time. Sometimes I go ahead and other times I just x-out. I'm not real crazy about Windows 10. It has messed up the way I did my photos and that is very very frustrating, so say the least.

A tech guru told me those Windows 10 updates will be downloaded even if you don't have Windows 10. You can check by looking at your updates in system properties.

Carol, Check your settings. Go to control panel, windows update and click settings on the left. If you have a check in the box for recommended updates, uncheck it and make sure you have it set to notify you that updates are available but to let you decide to install them.
NOTE: Win 10 upgrade will still show under optional updates when you go to Windows update in the control panel and it will show in the window. Be sure to click on optional updates and UNCHECK the box for the 10 upgrade.
I was told to do this a while back when I had the same problem and it has worked so far. It is a PITA to have to uncheck it in the optional updates each time but that is the only workaround I know.
And I still get the popup to upgrade but I just "x" out of it. Hope this helps.

Yes, was getting them everytime I start my computer. Very annoying. The tech support team from our MLS checked my computer and removed it, so it is fixable.

Yes, I did today! Before I just got a pop-up at least asking me whether that's what I wanted to do. Today, I returned from appointments to find that Microsoft took it upon itself to download it to my computer. I declined the final install and it reinstalled the previous version. Annoying.

You know a few days ago I downloaded a boatload of updates & my machine was racing for 2 days. No update notice though.
There's a way to shut that off I remember reading. Google it.
