I use both. Localism video/written blogging is one way I do both.

Videos need to be 90 seconds or less until you have a loyal following that will tolerate more!

I think they have two different purposes.  Video blogging is good for a short presentation on a listing.  Word blogging is for presenting in-depth info about any given subject.

I don't personally enjoy videos, especially amateur talking head videos.  I prefer to let the pictures speak for themselves.

When you consider that 300 HOURS of video content is loaded every MINUTE on YouTube, you cannot deny the overwhelming influence that video has on just about every single industry.  In fact, video advertising used to be accessible only by the very rich, corporations, or politicians--there was no vehicle for "ordinary people" to post content that would be seen by anyone other than bleary eyed insomniacs.

Enter YouTube.

It's a game changer, and I'm anxious to try it out. I've had some TV experience, so I should be okay, but yeah, it's going to be different "fo sho".

Obviously blogging doesn't require any production help, equipment or experience to complete.  You can roll out of bed, and look like , well, you "rolled outta bed" and blog.  But cameras require preparation and makeup and "stage presence," so in many ways its not comparable.

I do think that Realtors who adopt video blogging will find deeper market opportunities among the millenials and emerging market segments. Its definitely useful to be able to produce  video content.

I don't do video blogging, but I do make videos - local, listings etc.

IMO people can read a blog a lot faster than they can if they are listening to me talk - I also believe they pay more attention when they read.

There is a tendency to let your focus wander when watching videos on the internet.

Many people are successful. I tried many years ago & just gave it up. Too cumbersome for me & alot of work. Then tried a few different systems like PowToons but they were pricey.

We have an AR Group on it.

Many people have tried it & it looks like they've been filming during an earth quake with too much movement, etc.

Many videos annoy me and many are low quality and shaky made by people with little or no experience making and editing videos. i doubt they will replace the written blog. Video done correctly might benefit a certain %.

I think it depends on you and how you deliver the information. Some video blogs are not very professionally done and these can deter homebuyers. I prefer blogs with pictures, or scenic videos.

I think people will watch the video out of curiosity but most will still want a written blog for indepth information since you can only cram so much info into a short video. And if the video is not well done (and I have seen many that are not) I doubt people would even watch the whole thing...I know I would not.

I don't like to be in front of the camera. It's very popular for agents to make these short videos and share on social media.  Blogs offer more information, videos are short attention getters.

We do both. Both are very important for content marketing both for SEO and for conversions. There are people who like to listen, there are those who like to watch and those who like to read. Tap into them all:)

We keep our videos very short and our text content as long as we can get it. Unless of course, it is an instructional video, then those would be longer and people would expect that.

I do think people would want to view a video as opposed to read a text David Landau.  That being said, there is prep work for both - do you video-blog on UTube, or another site, and what is the cost.  How long does editing and finalizing take.  You need to be able to speak clearly and with good English.  When you write text there are usually a few drafts before the final is complete.  I do think you would have more hits or views with a video than a text, though for me personally, I'm still going with the text.
