When I had left what I thought was going to be my dream job working in radio ad sales and landed in retail. I made 3% commission selling diamond rings IF the entire store met its sales goal.  I decided I needed to move the commission sales job to a higher level and got my license.

My husband and I were investors from Ca. first - we went into business with our agent in FL - which didn't last that long.  But we made the best of the move and turned that into a prosperous new career

I had retired from the corporate world; lived overseas for a few years. When we returned to the US, didn't want to return to the corporate world despite being heavily recruited to do so. Felt if I was going to work again, I wanted to be more entrepreneurial and independent. Also, had had so many poor experiences previously with agents, I felt I could run rings around most of them and I did and still do.

I decided when I was 28 years old and thought the time was right.

In my youth, I saw a guy, sitting in a small little office at a desk who was an agent. I knew nothing about the business but that told me right then & there I wanted to sell Real Estate like he was doing...It was more a mystical experience. It was to come to pass in its timing

i started by accident, because all the agents in my area were so terrible i couldnt get decent representation

It is something I always wanted to do...it was a matter of not if but when.

I was bored with my day job as a government lawyer and my aunt had been a realtor so I decided to give it a try- that was over 30 years ago! 

I was buying investment properties for myself; I wanted access to the MLS.

We fell into it.  We flipped homes for a few years and Amanda got her license to help learn the market and save on commissions.  After a while we decided I would get my license and we'd jump into it full time.  So far so good!

I retired and was looking for something to do

I was mid-20's & wanted to buy a home. The agent we used was a total disaster & I said to myself, I can do what this idiot can do only better.

I got my license when I was in the late 20s.... just looking for something to do on the weekends...  This is deja vu-2nd time for something to do aussi. 

After 30 years in corporate America when I realized I wanted to actually help "real" people in their day to day lives.

When my first commission check was more than I made an entire year teaching.

While I finished up high school to help out my folks.

I did, my mother had sold real estate now for 50 year, much of my life. I would go with her to see all the new homes and knew it was for me. Now i have been at for 30 years since the age of 18 

Actually when I was a child I suggested that we visit new homes that were being built.   I was in another career prior to getting my license. 

After I experienced two layoffs within two years in the "stable" world of healthcare I decided to take matters into my own hands.

When my Son was in high school.

We relocated to a new city and I realized I just couldn't do the daily grind any longer...my husband had told me for years I would be great in RE, but I told him he was crazy.  It turned out my degree and background in marketing were a perfect fit for RE and I could ditch the daily routine and commute.  Win win!

Camilla Granasen - at least for me, it was a conscious decision to switch career to Real Estate...

I saw an opportunity

At 21 , I sold the first house I showed !

When I bought our first home I got the bug.

Thought we were renting to own for a period of time then purchasing.  Well we were scammed.  Then while working with a Realtor she asked why I was looking for a lease.  Explained the situation and she proceeded to educate me.  I feel in love with a HUD property. We bought it!  

During my empty nest syndrome, tired of the OFFICE JOB I decided this is what I want to do.  Educate the public and help people find their happy place.  

When my husband & I decided to buy and flip homes.   

I am from a long line of real estate professionals, but when my husband and I had been doing fix and flips for years, it was a natural progression.

Started investing in my mid twenties.

It was a second career for me after I turn 47.  Looks like a good business to get into and make money.

Never dreamt about it; just jumped in with both hooves.

Never thought about real estate until it just happened!

to stop getting on airplanes 2 to 3 times a week in Corporate America...

When my dreams of being an actuarial or comptroller or life insurance sales came to an end.

I decided on real estate as a career while in law school.

When I realized how much money I was making for agents as I represented investor-buyers I decided to add real estate agent to my business portfolio.

Roger had mentioned to me, a few years ago that he thought I would make a good realtor, and would I be interested in working with and assisting him in real estate Camilla Granasen.  I thought it would be fun to learn something new, though loved my current job, just wished I had more hours.  It took me a long time to finally make that decision and go back to school.  During this time I took a break from my volunteer work, because of classes, though still kept my job and took my classes around it, as they were weekdays, and my job was evenings and weekends, with occasional weekdays.  My company knew I was going back to school.  Very hard decision for me to make, even during school, though I knew I would complete my hours and take my two sets of State and National Exams.  Evenually I did give my Notice for my volunteer work and my job, and now have been working with Roger for almost one year.
