We refuse to use Z so it doesn't matter. We do check Z however to make sure if our listings are there, that we are noted as the listing agents.

Lyn Sims if a burglar robbed your house, would you invite them to your 4th of July BBQ? No, you wouldn't. That's the same thing here. Zillow stole from Realtor.com plain and simple. I actually agree with NAR's stance on this and, dare I say it, respect them for it. Why give the enemy a chance to earn money that it can then use to defend itself against your lawsuit?

It doesn't benefit Trulia being under the corporate umbrella of the Zillow Group. The trial in Seattle starts today so we shall see, and whatever the result we should see some shock waves. FYI, Realtor.com is growing at a fast clip.

I ask why only one year? Sounds like something worth a lifetime ban to me! Mostly I just ignore NAR on things like this--they are typically doing too little too late.

I think a couple of times a year NAR actually does something right.

Lyn Sims No, I don't believe it impacts the membership at all. This is a fight between move.com com and Z. Realtor.com is just trying to become the next Z.

Great video. I blogged about this; I may edit the blog and post a link to that video.

I don't care, I'm not going. Who says it's a "ban" but rather they just don't want to rent them a booth. That's NAR's right to do. Not a fan of NAR, and certainly can't stand ZiT. If more members would say "WTF is Z doing here with a booth?" than good for them.

It's big corporation stuff and I wonder how it will impact us, if at all...unless you want to visit with Zillow at NAR events! I rather doubt Zillow cares

I'm confessing to a fault: I'm a hypocrite, I'm a positive guy that has to admit I relish any bad news about Zillow's future. Ohhhh it feels good to admit that.

It will have no effect on those agents who have no hesitation doing business with those whose business depends on deception, misrepresentation, faulty data and stolen intellectual property.
Those of integrity will ask "What took you so long?"
Zdevil chuckle, "too little too late."
Banned from NAR/REALTOR events. What do you think would happen if Zdevil pulled a Trump and held a concurrent event next door? NAR/REALTOR should get the message of the betrayal they have committed against their members.
A few more courageous brokers and or franchises and the way real estate is conducted will change irreversibly.
PS: the video includes comments like. the one sided code of ethics ensures the REALTOR never gets out of line, that REALTORS are pathetic and EVERYONE sees the agent as part of their food chain. NOT ONE is one the agent side with includes NAR, REALTOR, Association and the franchises.
Are we a pathetic bunch?

Zillow Agrees to Pay $130M to Move, NAR by June 20th, Settlement Ends 2-Year Contentious Litigation |
Zillow and realtor.com® operator Move have settled their two-year long, contentious trade secrets lawsuit, it was announced Monday, with Zillow agreeing to pay its industry rival $130 million. The settlement, detailed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, is far less than the initial $2 billion Move had initially claimed in damages. The trial was originally set to begin today. |

I think it is fine. If Z acted inappropriately then they should be sanctioned.

I think they are treading a slippery slope. They've lost a battle similar to this before.

I have never liked Zillow and think that NAR is standing up for it's members.

It is just at exhibits.
Looks like the court is in favor of Z instead of Moves. Its ban from Listhub did not impede Z a bit so long all MLS are willing to let Z to be a customer.
Z's stock actually moved up as a result of court comments. It moved +10% not making any profit.
