I doubt if it has an impact on the real estate market.  When you are able to shoot 103 of a crowd of 300, too bad there was not someone armed other than the terrorist, might have saved a lot of lives in the minutes it took for the police to arrive.

Wow, that is very extreme, but it could happen in any state.

I would not affect my desire to not move to such a warm and humid climate though.

We are all suffering from extreme temps here in Wisconsin this week and many of us would probably melt if it got any worse.

Fred... using my best liberal logic, I would like to see a law passed that guns can not be out on the streets past midnight. If the gun has a job that requires it be out past midnight, then it's okay. If we had a midnight gun curfew, I think there would be a lot less guns running around causing trouble. There is no excuse for what this gun did to these innocent people. The sad part is... some poor terrorist is going to get the blame for what this gun did. Those are my feelings. How do you feel?

I do not think it will affect the housing market, but should affect the way people think in general. It was indeed hate but also terrorism. Terror is starts with and is based in hate. They use any tool they can find like pressure cookers, knifes, box cutters, shoes and such.

The event will have no influence on real estate.

However, other radicalized groups can leverage this event to peruse other agendas.

12 Consecutive pages starting from page one in today's news paper gave this shooter, wanting to write a spectacular final chapter to his life, everything he could have hoped for. Imagine others who feel marginalized, isolated, hopeless, disenfranchised, contemplating their last chapter. Headlines, flags at half-mast, state of emergency, relentless coverage to make sure their name is remembered.

Oblivion, not headlines is the right response unless encouraging others to write spectacular chapters is the gaol. That certainly is beneficial to what the media mongers profit.

With less than 18 hours after this horrific senseless tragedy, I choose not to directly respond to the worries of how the real estate market is going to respond, or discuss the reasons why on earth anyone needs assault weapons, why Obama didn't say things, or why Trump has to shoot off his mouth before knowing all the facts. Fred, I think it will effect Orlando tourism. Disney Theme Parks already tightened security which caused long lines to get in today. I don't think it will effect the real estate market as this could've happened anywhere and it's a threat to our entire nation, not just Orlando. Of course many will blame "the gun", what if this evil man drove through the club with his car and killed 50 people? Would we blame the car then?

I doubt it will impact anything.

The singer's death, I'm guessing is by someone infatuated with her.  Fatal attraction type deal.

The mass shooting is undoubtably a lone wolf attack that is religiously motivated.  Shooter was "visibly upset" after seeing two men kissing in a park according to his father.  This is the muslim holy month, the suspect had radical ideological ties and this shooting occurred at the culmination of a week long "Gay Pride Festival" in the city where gay people were encouraged to be out en-masse at parks and clubs to celebrate.  There is no doubt in my mind that this was deliberately timed for this event.

ISIS supporters have been jumping on the bandwagon online using the club's name as a hashtag to support the shooting and post anti gay statements/images/koran verses/etc.

My conceal carry doesn't permit me to carry and consume alcohol, is it the same in Florida?

Suppose any of those 50 people might have bought or sold a home in the next 12 months?  And I truly think fear always affects the market.  Perhaps some people who decide to leave the city for a perceived safer rural area. Mass moving tending to hurt price.

It's really not safe anywhere though. At my church we not have someone basically "stand guard" at the doors that our backs are all to every Sunday.  It's a sad sad state of affairs.

You beat me to the punch on this one Fred Griffin I asked a similar question awhile back on this platform and received some interesting, astute and even ridiculous answers.

Right after the San Bernardino massacre we started noticing an increase in lookieloos from that area. The calls and inquires I fielded were from folks who had had enough of the crime and were indeed fearful of being in crowded areas with lots of strangers.

I do think there is some impact and fallout from folks who live close to an area where there's been any type of social upheaval be it terrorism, natural disaster, or a tragedy of some sort. But I do believe there is a correlation to some extent albeit I'm not too sure you'll see a mass exodus by any means.
