I think the conversation about rudeness on the Q&A section is a dead horse.

Points at others expense.
Much to do about nothing.
I am serious Nothing.
Why would anyone have distress over another collecting more of NOTHING?
To be honest I wish the 'problem" (there is no real problem) becomes amplified so those easily offended find a safe place to be which is not the Q & A forum.
Which is more annoying, questions from Utah or members complaining about point hounds? IT is all about NOTHING.

This is what i wrote as I have lots to say about this topic. First those that leave rude answers are probabily also leaving rude comments in the blog section. I dont think the q and a section brings out the worst.
Now with those students, some questions are well thought out and i love to answer them. If i dont like the question, i pass by it. I also pass by anonymous posts and those people who cant bother to post their picture on their account. No member of AR should be bashing them for asking questions, my however though is, If i was their professor i would teach them to ask questions in a different manner such as NOT "name fraud you see in real estate ads" but would like to see "give examples of the proper way to write/post real estate ads". NEXT there is about 2 dozen of us who frequent q and a daily. We see some "hit and run" posters but the core stays the core. Now in that 24 -30 daily posters maybe 2-3 are not positive in their outlook on answering questions.
Q and A has a place here on AR, it is a place agents can go to ask, answer or entertain one another. Consumers dont visit this section, and to be known, i love checking it out daily. I think Bob Stewart should add another q and a section to go after consumers and leave this section for agents to interact on a different basis than blogs.

I really like Q & A and appreciate that we can read, answer, learn, pause to think, and often be entertained from each other. I also learned how important it is to pass over any question that offends or is not one I choose to answer. I made the mistake once and won't repeat it. As my husband reminded me, "Don't let negative people steal your joy."

I'm not getting it. Most of those members who think this section is distasteful have just been here asking questions.

I did and this was my comment on the post by Chris Ann Cleland:
Hi Chris Ann -- I hear snarky being discussed and I'm thinking it might be me because I know I have that characteristic in my personality. Interestingly enough, today I received a letter from an address in St George. Utah from a person I didn't immediately recognize.
It was a letter from a Century 21 agent who introduced himself as a former student who was taking real estate courses online and was instructed to join ActiveRain and ask the professionals. He wrote thank you for answering my questions. They actually helped me learn more about real estate and what to expect. You have given back to real estate business because I have become a licensed real estate agent in Utah.
I don't recall answering the questions by Scott Parrish but I certainly appreciated his letter today. It was a nice way to start my day. Okay, Scott -- so now it's time to start selling real estate and get back to participating in ActiveRain. Here's to success!

Thanks for heads up Michael J. Perry This topic pops up continuously both here in Q&A and posts.
See Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers counterpoint post as well.

For some reason I'm not finding that when trying to copy and paste the title to the AR search engine. Could you possibly edit and link the exact title to this question. You've got my attention and I'd like to read it judging from the answers I've read thus far.

I missed it since I'm not really interested in discussion about AR points. I like A&Q and if I have time I like reading blogs of those I follow.

I think that Chris Ann makes a good point. Still, I don't think the proprietor of the Utah real estate school is doing his students a service. Requiring them to ask repetitive questions is not a way to introduce them to blogging and effective use of social media.
3,229,858
yes and I left my thoughts there. Sometimes I get snippy with rude, but I don't get rude with questions.

No I have not, seldom pay attention to posts complaining about other people and their posts or points. Who wrote it?
1,435,350
I have not but will go find it now, I have read a couple of blogs about the Q&A section.

I read through the post this morning. Thing is, they never get read. I'm pretty sure that 98% of the questions are never looked at once the students post them. The students never circle back (with maybe one exception).
What AR should do, in my humble view, is contact this school and ask them to cease and desist with these drive-by questions.

Read it. We just ignore the redundant questions now, and concur with Scott Godzyk

Michael J. Perry I just read Chris Ann's post and left a comment. Scott Godzyk summed it up nicely.
