Google tells me that it is a suite of rooms in a line, with their doors on the same axis so that they provide one continuous path through the entire suite of rooms. Popularized in Baroque architecture but existing before in examples such as the Raphael Rooms in the Vatican.

I've seen it in pictures of furniture, though I think you are referring to doorways of rooms in a line, Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers? I will read replies below!

Thanks for a question that made me look something up and learn. Hope you get a building to sell that uses the style of enfilade - big bucks?

I have heard of this in old homes where you go from one room to another without a hallway.

Based on Cody Carmen's googling it sounds like this would be popular in hotels, catering venues, meeting rooms - just service areas, in general.

In architecture, an enfilade is a suite of rooms formally aligned with each other. The doors entering each room are aligned with the doors of the connecting rooms along a single axis, providing a vista through the entire suite of rooms (not wholly unrelated to a shotgun house). The enfilade may be used as a processional route and is a common arrangement in museums and art galleries, as it facilitates the movement of large numbers of people through a building.
