I tried this a few months ago and was told they were directed to the signup page of AR

You CAN post it, but it's pointless and stupid until if/when you make it public. They won't be able to get to the page unless they are members and they will get annoyed at broken link.

The way to get this to work is to post it as public for a few minutes, share the link on fb, then go back and change it to members only.

To the best of my knowledge,if you did the reader would have to be a member to read it! Not exactly sure what they would see.

You can post, but no one will be able to open that link. On FB you you select your audience for each post.

Not sure, but if you wanted to make it members only, why would you even want to post it on Facebook?

I don't think you can. As I understand it...members only means members only.

I've experienced what Chrissi Chapman Topoleski states when I've been on other computers. Your best bet is to post it to your FB page then use Chrome's "Incognito Mode" to view the link. That mode should let you view AR as a random visitor.

Those Members only post can only be seen by members and that means the links lead to a logon page.

The link will direct any non-members to the generic AR homepage (at least I think that's how it used to work) so more than likely, rather than sharing your content, you'll just end up confusing non-members.

I have never tried this so I am not sure of the process. It seems that others have possible solutiosn.

No. I echo what Kathy Streib said. If posts are worth sharing on social media perhaps they should be changed to public

I think Kathy Streib is correct. You can post the link, but they'll need to sign up as a member to read it. Maybe not what we want, encouraging the general public to become members.
