If I were you targeting these people, I would come up with a strategy after studying who to target and how to do it. In our career, we have met several people who have represented the sports world. It is not necessarily all that lucrative, due to the fact that many sports figures are traded every so many years. They often tend to rend rather than buy, unless they are player of some stature.
If I were to target CPA's and attorneys, I would target those who have a large sphere of clientele in the price range you are working in. This requires some research prior to doing a direct marketing piece. We are firm believers in understand the psycho-graphics of each market or type of profession we are targetting. I hope this helps. You always have to target market and show them something that benefits them and their clients as well as giving referrals to them. I mention what can help and save their clients time and money. Do you have a marketing team or dept. that can assist?

What you can bring to their table ... and never ... I mean NEVER ask them for business. Build the relationship. Take them to lunch. Some of my best referral business comes from attorneys.

I would think direct mail marketing would be best, but also getting out to meet some of these potential referral partners, either directly or perhaps through an introduction from someone they know. Curious what others are doing - I m not marketing to these individuals
