There are certain days I don't do any RE Debbie. My birthday, which is tomorrow, is one of those days. When I was younger the opposite was true.

Depends on the client, but I would attempt to narrow it down so its not an all day thing. I would also point out that I have plans with my family but I can spare a couple of hours.

Family. I have a client like that right now and it is very annoying when he doesn't respect family time   But that doesn't mean you shouldn't respect family time just because your client doesn't respect family time

Not only that, who wants to show their house on the Fourth? 

we talking slam dunk buy? then maybe... lookie lou? likely not..

This is a tough question because it would really depend on the timing.  I would try my best to fit in both so as not to disappoint anyone.

It would depend on the client. Right now I'm working with a lot of out of the area people, and I would probably try to show property to them. 

It depends on the client and how well I could accommodate both and not disappoint my family.  General rule ... God, Family .... just saying ... 

I would stick with the plan and tell them that I'm already "fully committed" that day (they don't need to know with what) and then offer a few options where I am available.

I will work most holidays.  Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas and Easter are out.

Easy to answer. Stick with my personal and family plans. A client can be res-scheduled. If not, then they are not a client. I pick and choose who I work with, in my schedule.

I will spend the day at my sons home, but I will be available if needed.

It depends on the client, as family comes first. I might try to accommodate for a reasonable period of time if we cannot work out another time.

Pay a struggling newbie to be a Shower or pass

It depends on what I have going on with family and  the client.

Popping over to a house early in the day for a client who is signed up and ready to buy maybe.  But a sign call NO.  Yesterday I received a referral from an out of town agent.  He wasn't sure when the buyer was coming.  The buyer called me yesterday afternoon from the baggage claim at the Houston airport.  Said they are in town today through the 4th and want to look at houses.  Um, sorry, no can do.  But I found an agent who was more than willing to work with them.

I take some holidays to myself to spend some time with family and friends.  Recently I have lost some dear family members and friends.  It is important to spend time with them while we can.  We never know how long any of us are here.  I feel we must take the time when we can to spend it with them.  We never know if it will me the last time.

That would not make momma happy...if momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy!

If it's a "quick", close showing I might escape for a short while, otherwise family and friends are more important, especially if the buyers might be a no-show.

I stick to the family plan.

I would meet with them and if they know me and my husband, who is also an agent and works with me, i would invite him to my family gathering!

It would depend on the client and the situation. I'd specify the hours available (2 hour window in the morning). We'll be at the beach, so no issue here this year! 

I showed a house on the 4th of July one year. The funny thing was that the listing agent came dressed in her "daisy dukes" and the buyer refused to believe she was the agent. It was nice of her to accommodate us, though, as she was headed for a family bbq.

I always accomodate for a "real" client, however if it is a new customer that I have not met and has not passed my interview process, no I won't.

We get a lot of Looky Loo's during holidays here. just had one last night wanted to view condo's all weekend.

It's the busiest weekend of our season - they're all RENTED! I can't get in to any of them this weekend without an appointment days in advance.

My family understands this is my career and if my customers needs to see something, we're on it as a team!

I'd see if we could make it the 3rd instead because many owners have family gatherings here on the 4th. And listing agents required to be present may object to the timing. But if the 4th is their only possible date and they I'd see what I can accommodate for them.

If the buyer is really motivated and will surely write the offer - and home is really good, I think it's okay...

Ask buyer about their motivation on scale of 1 to 10 - where they are. If 9.5 or less, spend time with your family.

If I've made plans, I'll stick to those.  I might try to see: 1) if the property is even available for showing on the 4th... 2) if I can find another agent to show it to them, if it is.

I like to work Debbie. If I think they are for real I will do it.

If I already have plans, it is a no.

Debbie - I would probably try and do both if at all possible. If not, I might just tell the client that we can schedule for the next day, depending on availability.

Unfortunately the way our market is right now I have to show the minute homes come out or they are sold. However, we are going south again this winter for 6 weeks.

I will pass them on to anothere agent.  Family is more important than money..

It will depend on the circumstances with the buyer.  On Monday I will be volunteering at a shelter and then family time afterwards.

It all depends on the situation, if the customer is in for one day only and is ready willing and able, I might get away for an hour. Most sellers would not want their home shown on the 4th unless they are out of town. I learned that family first then business, life is too short:)

NOPE! Family first, we don't get together that much and everyone will have traveled a few hours to be here.

We're established agents, but in this market, if a home pops up last minute that fits our client's needs, we'll scramble.  If they call today and want to see a home that's been on the market for a while on a holiday, hell no.  

Out of town cash buyer, probably.  Everyone else, sorry, no.

It depends on the buyer (serious? ready, willing, able?).  It depends on the market (will it become spoken for in that time).  It depends on the owner/sellers as well.  Sometimes, they are having company and won't want to accommodate a showing.  

Depends on the circumstances.  If the buyers are only in town that day, maybe.  Also depends on what those family plans may be.  Travel?  Then I can't show the home.  A movie/hike/something that is flexible?  Most likely.

Of course with that said, my parents are my family and we don't do anything on the 4th.

Hi Debbie - The 4th usually starts for us in the evening - I'm sure one of us could find a couple of hours to make a clients happy.

Bet it would be much more difficult to get showing appointments on a holiday with the seller.

If it is before 2 I will show, after 2 party

Some days, clients need to realize that we do have private lives.

It all depends... if that client can work around my schedule and I can squeeze them in, maybe.

Years ago I would show and now personal plans take preference!

Debbie Reynolds with our inventory being so scarce right now, I would show them homes since it would most likely be the difference between finding them one or not. 

If its just a "tour", without intent, then maybe not. 

if the client has met all my criteria, I customer serve.......

As most of the festivities are mid afternoon to fireworks in the evening; show the property.

It totally depends on the client, my family comes first. If we could meet no other time and it was important I'd allow a couple of hours. Clients do have to respect our time if they don't they don't respect us.

In most yers I woudl be way for a couple of days so it would not even be possible. However this yer being so busy, i waited to long to look for a hotel room at the beach and everything is full. My plans are up in the air

July 4 is a regular working day in our great nation.

Knowing me, I would try and do both - HA! - Debbie Reynolds!  If I could show homes that didn't take a half-day or longer, I would schedule it before that family cook-out.  After all, that family cook-out might be at my house!
