I have about as much faith in Angie as I do in the BBB.  Both have a financial incentive to promote the businesses who pay them.

    They call me about twice per month to sell me something.   I have them in my Caller ID.

I'm not a big fan of Angie's List.  I've had a number of poor experiences with their recommended vendors.

Good to know.  My daughter in law called a plumber who spent 1 hour claim he is diamond certified his price quotation is about 2X over a neighborhood plumber(lic).

I have checked into this before and now will revisit it. That could be a new place to be found.

I am not one of her fans nor are many others in western PA.  We prefer word of mouth referrals.  We are not going to follow suggestion of out of town celebrity.  I have read several of her newspaper & Internet articles and have not been impressed by her advice.

OMG that is bad news for good contractors...they keep attracting more and more price sensitive people and keep trying to charge contractors more and more.  Their services have really gone down hill since they went public.

Do you know that Angie's List has a section on Realtors and tells the reader to ask for part of commission back when they buy a home?

I did not know this. I have not used this list.

I have yet to find a good hanyman or other service person on either AL or HA (home advisor).

All the ones I interviewed were either so over priced I could have hired a licensed contractor or wanted to remodel the entire house!
