My company is part of the impression. It's the oldest running real estate office in Cedaredge.

Many of my clients are referred by past clients and so they come with a high recommendation. They hire me because of who I am not the company I'm with. Although, I'm the owner of the company, so I gets it's all relative.

My clients never ask what company I am with. It's strictly ME. I would have to say!
Conversation usually goes like this, "Lauren, you sell homes?... right?"

My business comes to me - however I have had clients come to me because of Keller Williams. in the past I've also had clients come to be when I was C21.
Interestingly enough I've also had customers tell me "I hope you're not like blah blah from C21 or KW" LOL

Paul,
It really depends on the marketplace you are in, especially on the higher end. We have worked with status companies and with those independents who challenge the status quo. Some real estate brand rarely make it in luxury, they are perceived as the Sears of the Industry. There is nothing wrong with them except for the perception. And we can handle that. This is a big subject. A

My clients don't care about the company where I hang my license. The company doesn't matter to most people. It is about the knowledge and service they receive from the agent.
I've worked for big brokers who have great agents and sh!t for agents. Same with a small brokerage. The brokerage doesn't make a bad agent good. It's all about the agent.

Paul - I believe that in today's world it is much more about the individual agent. However, I can see in smaller rural areas where a Brokerage with a long history would probably carry some clout.

It's all about me! Actually that's true, because they are hiring me to either sell their home or find them a new one. It's me who they have confidence in, although the reputaion of the company doesn't hurt.

I try very hard not to focus on me as the Broker, but on the culture of the company and how we, as agents, do business.

I had to smile Paul - I am the company and my goal has always been to impress our clients.

Being a family run company where the client deals directly with me and my broker, we impress them. I can't recall the last time we had to even handle the question of "boutique v. giant firm." In this day and age, the playing field is even, now that the internet has replaced the two page ad in the sunday paper.

Name recognition is definitely a thing. If a company has a strong reputation (Sotheby's, Berkshire Hathaway etc...) that will help. You can't deny that. However, ultimately they are buying you. I'm never worried about competition, because I know what I say is true and the smart people will work with me.

The company stats may be a factor, but in my experience it's up to the agent to get the jobs.

Being relatively new to Naples, my company definitely has the local name recognition and history of selling the most high end properties and that has helped with jump starting my business here.

I have a big balloon over my head, but no, I don't think that impresses my clients. Most come to me because of me and the service I provide.

When I was new I needed the reputation of the company. Over the years I worked with very obscure names and did fine. My clients never seemed to care much about the name of the company.

First of all, I hang my license with my broker. He supports us.
There are 3 other brokerages in the same high rise building. Warren Buffet's operation does not impress anyone unless he wants shares his wealth with clients.
RE is about your ability to operate. Not name sake. Walkin traffic rarely happens these years.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington I believe the big companies still have name recognition, but it is the agent who brings in the business.

It's a balance of both for sure but my business comes from me and all about the service I give.

It's me first & then info on my company. Shows the success of others around you also. We are on the national 500 list or whatever it is called.
I am surprised at the 'people don't care' answers. OR is it .... we will overlook that if we like him/her?

The company is very successful and has a very strong market presence. This provides an advantage for the agents.
