I can't wait for the follow up and perhaps even more important question:  "How much is that cute doggie in the bow wow window?"

A bow window or compass window is a curved bay window. Bow windows are designed to create space by projecting beyond the exterior wall of a building, and to provide a wider view of the garden or street outside and typically combine four or more casement windows, which join together to form an arch. Bow windows first appeared in the eighteenth century in the United Kingdom.

I'd guess one that looks like a bow on it's side?  Sticking out like a bay window?

This doesn't seem very historical since these types of windows are still installed these days in many houses.

bow windows are common today along with bay windows and walkout bay windows....the latter is preferred in new homes...it gives an extra 2' of floor space....

Stupid idea where the window jets out from the house creating an illusion of more space. Bay window is 3 parts, bow is 5 or maybe more.

As far as I know, a "bow" window is just a bay window that is curved.

Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers Four, five or more windows that bow out vs. a bay window that has three windows that bow out. There are a lot of bay windows in my area. We have one in our family room.
