My husband and I are a team - what works for us is I have skills that he doesn't and vice versa - so we each focus on what we do best and fortunnately it works very well for us as the skill sets we each employ are significantly different than the others.

Seperate offices?

No help here.  No experience. I've often thought it would be great to work with a husband in real estate.  I would need a husband in order to see how that would work out.

LOL  I just asked my husband (who does not and will not have a license) what he thought.  His response . . .    DON'T !

Wife made sure her license expires so she can be a granny. It is more rewarding than: "Do you know anyone buying or selling?"

I have no personal experience with this and it would be hard to be in business with my wife.

Maintaining private time together.

1. Understand and continue to walk in the direction of the GREATER GOAL.

2. Understand 'How can anyone hurt the one they love?" This means in action, words and nurture. If you hurt someone, you DON"T love them. Make it right.

3. Know your genius and how genius operates as complimentary forces.

4. If your business is your life, organize, delegate, plan.

5. IF your life has a purpose and your business is recognized as simply the vessel, continue in the manner of insuring each has the five essential opportunities:

mental growth

social growth

spiritualgrowth

physical growth (exercise)

New experience

From proper action will emerge the emotion that accompanies a well balanced, healthy relationship.

My wife did not want to participate, so I can't answer personally. Have managed some husband/wife teams and they all did very well. They all approached relational balance differently! Some did everything together and others not so much! Find what is best for you! 

I've managed many husband and wife teams....they each do their own business.... but they also help each other.... 

Sorry, I would not recommend it.

I guess it would depend on each couple. Everyone is different in how they handle things. 

There are some great teams in my area, and they seem to be the ones wtih complimentary skills - where each is good at different things.

It can work well if your both on the same page!!

We have the same goals. It works for us.

My wife has been helping with the business for 30 years, but is always glad to have her real job to go to for about 50 hours each week.

Planning time alone and an understanding spouse

I do not know.

Strike first?   LOL

My wife got licensed and worked with me for a couple of years.  She understands the business, she is such a help.

Hi Steve - After 18 years together, keeping each other updated is the most important. And always having each other's back.

Communication and forgiveness.

Work at separate brokerage firms?

My parents are a team.

If you work together, there is never a concern over schedule issues and you can avoid the question "how was your day" all together!    If you work for different agencies and compete against each other, I can see that putting a strain on the relationship, especially if you are both up for the same listing!
