I just heard about Pokemon Go on our local news and they say it is highly addictive and causing car accidents by the followers. I doubt it would go over here in Naples as a marketing ploy.

I can really only see this being a good idea if the listed unit is a rental or a lower price point for the area that is accessible to a younger buyer field. But who knows, innovators find success and I'm sure someone will profit from this idea.

I watched a video this morning and the point was to market to Millenials who are into it. At a lower price point or a starter home, it could be effective maybe not to sell the house, but to get them looking at your name on a sign. My teenagers are playing it and say there are people everywhere walking around with their phones when they do.

Fortunately my life has not gotten that boring to resort to reality games.  I'll stay in the real world for now...so probably a no!  I have seen many agents promoting their Broker Opens and Open Houses with Pokemon Go.  It will be interesting hearing what the sellers think about this....Marketing!

I actually just had a discussion with an agent that may implement this idea into his open house events.  This is not something I would do since I prefer to enjoy conversation with the visitors and want their utmost attention on the property.

My son played a GameBoy game called Pokemon.  He loved it.  If this marketing idea is to get kids entertained while mom & dad view the house, I don't see lasting long as a fad.  If this is Pokemon adapted to an older audience of young adults, it may draw crowds but I doubt their pockets are deep enough to buy houses.  Let's see what action this gets in the next six months.  It was novel enough to get news attention, but that won't be around for long....
