I got in pre-license in the early 90's was licensed by 1999. I got to watch all the changes happening in real time from the guys that were doing it in my own backyard, The Silicon Valley. It changed our role, it forced us to be better agents and needed because of our skills, not because we were the "keepers of the info". I feel it gave the public a false sens of knowledge though; they are drowning in info and starving for wisdom...we are that wisdom. Tech gave the illusion of "this stuff is easy", when in fact the markets absolutely got harder in The Bay Area back then. San Diego is a milder version of the Bay Area, but it's still an up at dawn down at dusk all day long pride swallowing siege most days.

Constantly - after 27 years in the industry - I think it has changed at least on the surface incredibly - the skill set that makes us good agents never changes though

Depends on the time frame. Compared to 40 years ago, it's a whole new world. Even compared to 1 year ago, there's so much new.

Technology will continue to improve, but tenchnology can not replace good service.

As always technology is changing the way we do business with faster communication and easier access to goods, services and products.

The Internet has totally changed the way houses are bought and sold.  Within the next few years, the traditional real estate brokerage model will be completely gone.

Old days we had the books for properties.

Hard to imagine the days when we had typewriters on the desks, the mls was a blue book that came out once a week, forms had carbon sheets, and accounting was done in ledgerbooks.

And we used tons of legal pads.

Technology is a game changer across the board ... not just in real estate. 

New technologies allow us to compete with the bigger guys in real estate when done correctly.

Technology has changed how we behave and that continues to change the real estate market. We are empowered by new technology everyday. We change the world on how we use it, adapt to it and improve it.

Technology has helped our industry.  It is easier to home searches and it allows us to communicate with our clients from afar.  We now do transactions from across the world and our clients and walk through a home without ever stepping foot inside!

Technology has helped in many ways.

Definitely, technologies have made the process of renting a property easier and more enjoyable.  Thereby, real estate market has become more efficient.
