I haven't a clue, Mimi. At the end of the day, it's not like they can "spend" those points. And their points do nothing to help or hurt my business. But maybe some Utah "real" agents are unhappy.

Well good for someone if that person even realizes the importance of points with some members. I don't know who sends the students here. Maybe it's a resource link that is offered.
I hope these students find value in what we have to offer, and they become producing members with great content.
I have personally received a letter from Utah student thanking me for my help. That means a lot to me. We are doing a service by helping out these new agents.
I know when I was a new agent, that no one helped me, and it seemed liked everyone had a hand out asking for money. I wish I had found AR when I was new in the business.

Some how I seem to have already got myself on the "do not feature" list and will not be complaining. I have to say i actually like when a question is asked that is thought provoking by the students. For me it adds, that the student took the time to post their picture and then comes back to thank those who did leave answer.

No, I'm not sure the students are just not signing up by themselves. They haven't been all that annoying lately.

Utah State has 100s brokers who are licensed in education & CEU. There are at least 6 south schools south of Odgen, one in St George. Many operate out of a mailbox using dated test materials. Milking points? Ha... you are funny.
A major CA franchise trainer milked enough referral points for the entire area teaching Social Media. He asks all students to sign up and stop at 1/2 mil.
It is up to Bob to decide to accept them or delete them. I got a written letter from one of them thank me to get through the test and wanting me to help him to find a client.

I don't think they are suggesting students post questions to get the points for themselves. I see their motivation as sending the students somewhere else to engage and get answers and hopefully learn something.

Someone posted the head of this a while ago, very few points, most of their members dont earn many either, almost no points for asking questions and since most of the profiles are not even close to fully set up there are few points there either.

I've often wondered that Mimi, but more often I have wondered why I didn't think of it! Of course, I did the math. You get 250 points for each person that signs up and 10% of their points. So, you'd get 1 point for every question they ask. Since answers no longer give points, there is no benefit there. The true benefit would be if they were required to blog weekly. Then you could get 25 points per blog. Still, not going to get much more than 300-400 points per student.
I'd have each student ask the question, research the topic in and out of AR and then write a blog about what they've found out. But that's just me.

And whoever IS the URES Profile is actively blogging. But guess they don't need to. Will other schools follow suit?

One of the teachers posted questions as well. No idea who runs it. I think it's clever of them to use AR as a resource. Never thought of the points as meaning anything in this case.

Good question.
It benefits whoever invites them by giving them points. It benefits AR by increasing content and engagement. They won't be going away any time soon.

If the students have to ask the questions, does this mean they get a grade of some sort in the class or do they check off a box that they've done it? I saw the post this week Mimi Foster mentioned, and thought, "why bother?" It was clear it was written just to say it was done.
