congratulations on participating...that's the first step....  I plan to reach and break a deadlift of over 200 pounds with a 1RM in 2017.... I just did 175 pounds with my last lift and the next one is 180 pounds next friday... I have one more week to train for it....

That is a great accomplishment. I am having knee injections the next 3 weeks, so my running is on hold.

I am impressed. I have two goals for 2017. One is to run a 10 minute mile (I have done it a few times, but mostly I'm a slow poke) and the other is to run 4 miles straight without any walking at all. I still haven't been able to do that- I always wind up walking on the hills. They're pretty big and I huff and puff like crazy.
