Always refer the buyers so they get the best service. Also, some LO's have some programs & others do not.
I wish there was much more reciprocation on their part.

Jamie I am focused on my buyer's success it is not about me getting referrals, it is my buyer's getting the best loan which in turn gives me a closing, which in turn gives me referrals from my buyers...Endre
I have 3, one specializes in FHA so we don't actually do much together anymore but when we do it's a dream. The others are more regular and jumbos. Rarely get anything back.

The Buyer "owns" the relationship with their lender. If they don't know of one we have one that we suggest they talk with - but it's their decision.
If someone doesn't already have a relationship with a lender I have some that I suggest based upon their products, company process and communications skills. I've received a number of leads from lenders & refer back when they've earned it.
I have a list that I share and hope and pray that our buyers use one of them!
And, yes, they refer to me as well. We switch up the list - same lenders, just different order - so that #1 on the list changes since so many will only phone one.

I do have a mortgage referral partner.
When the outcome and dates are crucial, I recommend those with a history of delivering on time and under budget and without the hysteria.
Do they refer clients back to me? No.
That why I am always looking for 'good' mortgage referral partners.
I have a number of mortgage referrals partners. Most of them do not refer buyers to me because they rarely have a buyer walk in off the street without a real estate agent already attached to their hip. However, having said that, there are a couple of Lenders who have given me business and I am very grateful to them, and Yes I make sure they are given most of my referrals.

I give them a few choices.
I do refer people to quality lenders.
I usually give my buyers three options, and yes I do get referral buyers from two of them.

I have a short list that I give clients looking for mortgage brokers, and a "I recommend you do not use ..." list too. I leave it up to the buyer to choose.

I have been, but in 2016 I have realized that it seems to be a one-way street. Also, when a lender messes up, they take it out on me.
In 2017 I may suggest that they go it alone.

It is very rare for a lender to refer people back to a real estate agent.
I've had many mortgage partners over the years. The one I have now is flipping fantastic. The bar has really been raised. I don't care about getting anything back by way of referrals ... I just want the service and the ability to CLOSE a transaction.
I still give them contact information for my top 3 lenders. And saying thank you is all I expect them to do - in addition to a great job.
If my client does have one, I always offer to connect them with any one I work with. It's nice to reciprocate business back to each other. However, it's the client's decision. It 's unappealing when Realtors are pushy about going through their lender.
I have always had preferred lenders and yes they send me business as well.
I suggest a loan officer in whom I have great confidence. You need to know which ones to recommend. It is nice to receive referrals from loan officers but I have never counted on them.
We refer to a minimum of 3 and let the principal make their own decision.
I do refer to particular lenders, seldom do I get a return referrals from them - there are by far more real estate agents than lenders so I wouldn't expect too many referrals anyway
Yes, do have preferneces based on results. If they can reciprocate fine! It's the buyer's referrals that really count!

I do refer the best mortgage and loan professionals and I have a list of 4-5 that are excellent. This list does change depending on the loan size and the personality of the buyer. I always want to match the best for them. One size doesn't fit all.
I do have 2 that I prefer. I don't expect them to refer back to me.
It;s buyers choice, but i do give them suggestions if they need them. No referral fees are involved.
If a buyer does not have a lender, I have a list from which I refer. It is not my expectation that a lender refer clients to me. My expectation is that they do an excellent job with the clients I refer them.

Each will always receive three names that will take care of their needs.
Occasionally they will send someone.
I have a short list of lenders I refer and work with frequently. Always provide an option to my clients unless they are totally wedded to their own lender up-front. Then I respect that. And yes, my lenders do refer buyers and sellers back to me... but it's not an expectation I have. My expectation is 5-star service to my clients. That's the best reward. But a few referrals each year never do hurt.

I recommend several lenders but do expect referrals in return. It is part of the conversation, do you know anyone I can help.
They like my referrals. Have not got a referral for several years.
I gave them business. They call back sometimes asking why I have not check them out... That is their job. But I stop serving these clients.
I ask about their interest rate and suggest there are cheaper places. I also have an loan officer willing to do open house for me.
