That's a good question and definitely something you should do, and you're in the right place. Follow those who are writing regularly and whose writing you enjoy, and can learn from. This can include writers' whose posts are featured, too.

What might be a good match(or inspiration) for you(or anyone) can and will vary.

You can follow those who are the "most followed" by the entire site or by state.

Read the ActiveRain Daily Drop.

Check out Groups to see if you have any common interests.  Groups can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page under the heading Important Links.  Note:  some Groups are more active than others and the overall importance may not be as important as they once were(my opinion).

I would suggest start reading different posts by different members and those that appeal to your style press the follow button, and those who do not appeal to your style but have knowledge that you might benefit from follow them as well, Endre

There are many thoughts on this issue.  Some follow anyone who interacts with them.  Some follow those who have content they are interested in.  Some follow those who are in the local area to check out the competition.  Some follow their actual friends.  Some do a combination of these and /or others.

Michael Jacobs had a good suggestion on some of the top followed bloggers here.  Also, I would read Pat Kennedy's and Kathy Streib's weekly top picks and follow bloggers on there that interest you.

You can also go to the leaderboard and sort by category so that you get some inspectors, mortage people, etc.

In general, follow people that interest you and are helpful and interact w/ real comments.

The more you read, the more you interact, the more you comment...the more members you will get to know and  decide who to follow!

Google '[what interests you] active rain'
and see who comes up.
Like for instance, 'waterfront real estate San Francisco California active rain'

You want to follow the people who interest you with what they share.  We all have faves and you will find yours too.

I'm pretty new myself. I follow anyone that I blog, ask, or answer relatable questions... You'll notice familiar faces that are always participating. Chances are anything you are curious about are being asked or already answered.  If not, you get answers fairly quickly and they have yet to fail in being helpful.

There is such a wide variety here in the Rain, Alexa Collins - follow who your heart tells you to!  There are those who write often on a variety of topics, some who only post market reports and some who post jokes and recipes - all are good to follow if you like those topics!  The good thing - it's totally up to you!

It's a personal decision - You can select based on your own criteria parameters - or broaden your parameters and perhaps be delightfully surprised at the wide array of informative posts - !

Why limit who you follow?

I like Roy's answer but there are some really great bloggers who you don't want to water down . The more you add the more it will water down your feed on the right side in the follow area. 

The "Follow" function's main purpose is to help you to easily find the bloggers you like to read.  And I wouldn't follow someone just because they follow me (although I will check out their blog) or because they send you an email or a comment asking you to follow them. 

I'd say "Me" but you already do.    Thank you for the follow.

I'd say look at the blogs and the Q&A section and follow people who produce content you like.  Check the blog roll on Sunday, there are usually two "week in review" blogs that get written.  They start with "Best of" and "What I learned", those are good people to start following and a great blog series as well as they highlight their favorite posts and why.  Saves a lot of time looking through the content for the gems.

I suggest watching the Featured blogs each day.  These tend to be the ones that focus on helping each other become better at what we do. You may find some favorites from that over time.   Interact here in Q&A and you may find people you want to follow.

it really does depend on how you process information. You stated, " I would love to follow some amazing writers who can teach me about selling homes and what homeowners can do to increase property value.

Such information is readily available on nearly ANY real estate related website. Much of it is sheet music shared by agents who are members of the choir.  These are skills taught and learned easily.

What I would imagine you should consider of even GREATER importance is how you can exploit thess learned skills to your strategic advantage.

This converts an 'in your business' activity to a 'on your business' growth platform. On Your Business activities are those that you do not hire out but create, implement and feed until they have matured. They are important.

Who you follow must create for you an environment that stretches your brain, has a voice of clarity, exhibits sufficient courage to risk making you uncomfortable and has a history of innovative solutions that will provide for you the ability to create a message that separates you from the vast sea of smiley faces.

Those voices, those writers, those bloggers are rare. Since ones profession as a real estate agent compels exceptional marketing knowledge and skills, which embraces a well developed understanding of human behavior, you may want to look outside the kingdom of real estate for those voices of vision. 

In the meantime, you should plunder and pillage the archives of Active Rain and Hubspot. (it would be malpractice to leave out the 'darkside)

I would follow everyone you can - it can't hurt and you get points for it.

You can always remove those you have little interest in - just keep asking questions as you need
