I am with Roy on this one. Always liked the wooden post with hanging sign and room for a rider on top!

My Brokerage provides all signs and metal posts.  Just received a shipment of 12 new ones and they are quite impressive.  I believe they are fibreglass, glossy & rich looking.  My Sellers are always pleased to see how up market the signs are and never would a photo appear on one.

Why? Pay less. Live better.

If it can fade it will fade in Florida. My red, white and blue signs still have vibrant color.

Front yards get a yardarm and metal sign. Signs located with any potential of growing feet  will be plastic.

Ask yourself what the conversation the sign reader is having with him/herself before you finalize the text on the sign.  Get this right and the CTA you use will generate exceptional results.

Our brokerage uses a sign service -- generally wooden posts and a composite sign with a laminated surface.   They need to be replaced over time.

Andrew Mooers, I use BuildASign.com and order the white powder coated aluminum posts to go along with the reflective aluminum signs.  They last forever and are so easy to insert into the stake (that first goes into the ground).

I use the biggest that I can find & I use sign posts. Using metal now - arrow & condo signs are corrregated plastic. Reflective coats are good in winter & evenings. Have not had problems with fading at all.

Big mistake I made was including my website which made my name too small - lesson learned.

Depends - residential I use the 18x24 metals - I have to replace my pic every 5-7 years due to fading - I use the metal stands that come with the sign

For commercial I have 4'x4' particle signs on fence posts

Service I use? Usually I do the residential myself and the commercial either a handy man or my husband can be coaxed into doing it sometimes

Corrugated plastic.  I use two heavy duty wire frames.

I toss them out if they become faded from the sun, bent, or damaged.  Same with the riders... everything must look shiny clean and new.

Finding a consistently excellent sign company in my area is like finding a decent vet, PCP, mechanic or hairdresser--a continually moving target. Right now we have a local company doing a good job for us, fingers crossed.
High winds are a huge problem for us so there are times when I will order a banner online in a 9mm mesh that the wind will flow through. It is less expensive than the sign company would charge me and I can do the install myself 99% of the time.
For yard signs I like the anodized aluminum in a metal frame.
