2017 is going to be my best year ever in real estate. No one affects that but me, I make my own economy.

Dodd Frank was a mess from the start.  Sure there are some good things that resulted from it but OMG the red tape and regulations is way over the top.  But with that said there does need to be some protections/regulations so that we never have another fall like we did in 08-10 - never ever again please.

Soon it will be just like 2006 again! We know what happened right after that.

It is not hard to figure out who is a "mover and a shaker" and who the dead weight was.

I don't buy into this "wait and see" crap.  My eyes are wide open and I already see someone who is commited to his promises.

Our housing bubble was due to government interference and the "everyone has a right to a home" mentality. The less government is involved, the better.

Dismantling the over-kill regulations is a win for everyone. I'm not suggesting complete deregulation but, DF is over-the-top and dismantling and re-structuring it should be a positive thing.  And I LOVE Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor, CRS's comment!

Fred,  I am hopeful for better tomorrows. 

The real issue and my concern is WILL the banks price more efficiently and more effectively for consumers ... or will banks continue to pillage the people?  I suspect the later.

I am generally in favor of less regulations.  There may be a hangover from this later, but some folks will get rich first.

I think it will help buyers who don't qualify for mortgages to obtain private financing from family members or investors.   :)

I dont know if we can predict the effects. But Trump is swiftly doing much of what he said he would....at least putting things into a place where they can be revisited and revised as deemed necessary.

Dodd-Frank was a disaster I am not opposed to regulations that will make homeownership more secure and the home buying process more transparent.

While philosophically I want the government out of my life as much as possible, I also have to agree with Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor, CRS

I am waiting to see if lenders actually let loose of the reins and all their overlays and make it easier for buyers. It will take months for us to realize any change I am afraid.

I think we will be just fine.

This all depends on how severe the rollback is in the plan.

I believe it was an overkill bill and too late, however I'm against too big fail bailouts as well.

I would not expect any specific effect in our great nation.

Fred Griffin This could help the smaller banks to give more loans and kick start small business. More small businesses more employment and more homes purchased.

If they have gotten rid of the emergency liquidation clause that allows the banks to liquidate all accounts for their own survival, I'm fine with it.  That legislation, while seeming to regulate the banks, also allows them to screw us if there is another financial crisis.

 Oops! I dropped my crystal ball so I will ask the wizard. 

2017 will be a good year for real estate, but not a boom year. Donald is on the right track! Time will tell.

Unfortunately, the quote provided referred to the MUCH NEEDED change in the Merril Lynch and Raymond James business model which imposed 'fidiciary' responsibilities on these brokers.

More 'choice' is an alternate truth. The choice, in the businesses mentioned, were completely up the the broker and how much money they were going to extract not on the side of the consumer.

I hope the Trump Tribe does not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Can one rationalize, that real estate professionals, burdened with fiduciary responsibilities are limiting consumer choice?

Any change will be welcome relief.

My year has started off very well too, and expect a great year.

Less regulation = happiness.

Might be better or it might be worse. With three Goldman Sachs employees on the President's advisory council I am not confident consumers will benefit.
