Nathan Gesner, I don't think there's a specific time. It depends on when the Google bots crawl your site. I've see my blog posts indexed (using an unpersonalized Google search) within hours of posting.
As far as the 2nd part of your question, I don't know. I don't usually wait until my blog post is indexed before I post to ActiveRain.
Here's an article I posted on my site first and then right away on ActiveRain and they are in the 2nd & 3rd positions on Google. They are pretty much duplicate content (I was being lazy that day)...

It can take minutes, to hours, to days, to weeks, to never;) It all depends on 1. what you are trying to get your page or post indexed for, 2. the teasing you do to get the google bots to your page, 3. the competition you have for that specific keyword.
Here is a little trick to use to see if your post has been indexed.
Go to a Google Chrome incognito window and add in the exact title of your page or post and add "All in title:" before the title.
If your post does not show up for the exact title, then it has most likely not been indexed yet.
If google is pulling up all kinds of sites without that title, you are not indexed.
The next thing to check is to do the search without the all in title just in case there is a glitch.
Then you will need to search through the pages, the trick I have found that is the clue you are not indexed yet, is when you get down a few pages, like to about page 5 and you start to see the google books entries. Once you start to see those, you can bet your are not indexed yet.
To get indexed, getting google to fetch does not always work. The faster way is to start tweeting the heck out of your post with a link directly to your post. This works a lot better than FB because Google and FB are not friends:)
The next thing to do is to create a youtube video from your content on your post with the exact title and post to YT, embed on your post, link back to your YT video.
We use about 70 steps to raise the SEO of one blog post or website page:) Patience is the key. Katerina

So, Nathan Gesner - Fred Griffin's comment made me go check out my own Google search with Julie Larson Realtor® Sarasota's criteria. I was curious why her original post didn't rank the highest (on Fred's) but, it did on my search. That said, Julie, I'm curious, do you add the notation, "Originally posted at _____ (your web link)" when you double-post to AR?

I think it can happen very quickly or may take hours. I was going to say to wait a bit before posting on AR but sounds like it may not matter, at least with the example Julie Larson Realtor® Sarasota gave us.

I don't know that GOOGLE shares its time line or procedures with the general public but it seems that new posts can be found sometimes in just minutes or hours

It seems random with me. Some posts are indexed without 8-12 hours and others are days later. I do recommend you wait for the WP post to index before sharing on AR.

I am not sure but I have heard google will crawl most pages on a monthly basis but I hear that varies
6,038,801
That is a great question, and believe it would depend on when the bots are crawling around!
1,543,954
Depends on how much content is on your site and depends on how many pages Google has in the crawler's queue.
The advice here from the experts say "wait a couple days" or "it doesn't matter". Like with most things in life, ask two people get two answers. Me, I don't wait and I don't worry about it. I have a short time to get my stuff out there and some stuff I only post here or don't post here at all.
