That depends on your individual market.

That's a regional question: in San Diego for my business it's this order of demand typically:

1. 2nd Quarter
2. 4th Quarter
3. 1st Quarter
4. 3rd Quarter

But, so far the first Quarter of 2017 I've had a higher than normal amount of listings for January-February. Wahoo!

Each market is different.

After Super Bowl Sunday!  May the best team win.  Actually I listed a home today that will go on in early March as they prepare.  This year is moving along.  

Real Estate is local but for us March, April May and Sept, Oct. Nov..people buy and sell all year there just seem to be more at the times I suggested.

May - June - July

During the spring/summer (April - July) and fall (September and November) in our market.

The market will start filling up with sellers in April and May. Sept. and October also tend to have good inventory and then sellers begin to take their home off the market for the winter and the holidays.

Spring Market

Smart home sellers are putting their homes on the market now. Home buyers want to take advantage of the very low mortgage interest rates.

2nd quarter

From past experience around here May and August.

It begins with any month where a reasonable seller signs a listing agreement. Reasonable matters and finding them matters more.  

I dont know that there is one, likely to be different in different areas

In my market, most sellers try to list around March.

People want to time the market to catch seasonal peak or valley. I am afraid in sunny California it is not needed.

In Charlotte and for me, personally, March through May.  Sellers have less competition in the fall and winter months but, historically hesitate to sell during those months.

For us, typically March through October. But we have so little inventory on the market right now, that any seller willing to list, even with all the snow we have been having, is getting their property sold quick - and often over asking due to multiple offers.

I am new here and not that familiar with what you are asking sorry spring to fall seem busiest usually

Typically our busiest most active time is from March to September but not 100% reliable

We have more listings in the spring & early summer.

As a Real Estate Gypsie, I go where the action is.

More sellers tend to list in the spring months here.  The lakes in our area are beginning to rise and people are more motivated to sell and move during this time.

Time to get in before school & and the holidays.  That's when.  Families don't want to move school districts/zones during the year and mess up Johnny's friend base mid year.  They also want to be in their new home for Thanksgiving/Christmas

That will depend on the local market. Areas that get a lot of snow don't typically have a lot of sellers during the winter months.

I will go with June Desmond Neoh and they really should have listed BEFORE school let out. I think March is the ideal month to list.

It all depends on what kind of house you're looking for. If you're looking to flip or foreclosures they are available any time. It all depends on your location. People say March-July are peak times but you as an agent should be able to keep on top of it to help your clients find something any time of year.

I think it varies by location and climate.
