      I frequently reach out to MIA bloggers who have not posted in years, and invite them back to ActiveRain.  A number of them have thanked me for the invitation; several have returned.

March 26, 2012...this week. Several people rediscovered one of my most viewed posts from 2012 this week and made comments on it. The oldest one I commentred on recently I think was Dorrie Dillard's 11/25/08 post:

This week I re-blogged a great post from 2007.

I answered something that was 3 years old the other day. I haven't heard back from the agent.

maybe a year ....I didn't dig deeply....

Interesting thought. I miss a few bloggers from the old days and I may just do this.

I have not had time to go back and search old posts. Only if they show up when i am searching for something else and i see active rain.

I do that frequently when I reach out to inactive bloggers.

I'm not sure - depends if it was "bumped" or not so I could see it

I try not to get into older posts.

I like to look back in the 'Rain sometimes!

Someone recently re-blogged one of mine that was almost 10 years old!!  I meant to ask what they were searching for when they found it but, got a kick out of seeing one that old - my blogging 'style' has changed drastically since the first years' posts!  

I think the oldest one I responded to was around 2013.

I've had a couple of my first ones commented on in the last few months.  That was pretty interesting until I realized the person had just followed me and was checking out my blog roll.

wow ,I never knew we could go that far back.

Just this week I commented on a post in a photo-group that I think was 2012.

btw - I've noticed many of the Groups I belong to all of the Permanent Featured posts are from 5 to 9 years old.  Moderator(s)? Hello, anybody there?

Many of the authors may not be active bloggers anymore and/or may not have notifications on and therefore may not know.

It has been awhile since I commented on older posts.  I honestly do not remember how long ago or the age of the post. Will the authors be shocked? As the saying goes ... it depends.  They may not even notice if the authors are not around AR these days.
