I just answer with one "Hello?" and then I say NOTHING.  If the line is silent, it's a robo-call waiting for me to say anything else.  I hang up.  If the line has a live person, it is unfortunately a duct cleaner or the "computer technical support", trying to fix my not broken computer.  I don't engage, only thank them for calling and hang up immediately. Annoying, yes, but minimal time gets wasted.

These crooks are crafty, they change the number with each call so a blocking of the number won't effectively stop the annoyance. Because we are sales people we pick up even numbers from weird locations. As soon as they talk press 9

I started to answer the phone in a different language when I am not sure of the number. They told me..."I'm sorry I have the wrong number. I'll remove your number right away."...in English!

Jeff, I average at least 5 calls a day.  It drive me bat bonkers.  I do not know of anything that will actually stop them. 

I have been blocking them when a new number comes in for about a year now and have it down to a controlable level.

Jeff Dowler No, I use Verizon's blocking feature. Unfortunately, they only block 100 numbers and that fills up quickly.

I receive a robocall.  

I hang up.

I mark the call as Do Not Answer.

Privacy Star/Call Detector worked pretty good.  Google now identifies suspected spam callers and you can block them.

I do not know of any software, i block the numbers after i get a call, but then they change the number and area code. I have started playing with these fools when they call and i am alone and usually driving. Yes i answer through my car so i am jands free. You can really get these people and a good laugh with some thought

I have a software to block calls that have a number. With smart phone I do not ans out of the area code calls. Each time I get on 800-   and file my experience. If I can an out of town calls the legit callers will leave a VM.

I have not got any solicitation calls from these 3rd party sites in a long time. All blocked...

Spam for phones, that's a thought.  If they just had a "do not call" list.

I didn't know this was a technology that existed.  If I am by a computer I usually google the number before I answer it to see if there is anything I ought to know, but otherwise I get wise to areas that tend to be spam area codes and ignore them.

Yes, Verizon allows me to block numbers online and on my phone and Time Warner has an online service too (now Spectrum). My home # now rings once and poof! with all robocalls and most of the repeat offender live cold callers. I rarely get a call at home anymore that's not a human that I want to chat with. Cell is a constant battle, but less and less anyhow.

I just block the ones that come regularly on my phone. You will never get them all. They use the "do not call" list as their source!

No, I can easily block each call from my iphone and since I already marked or blocked many, i do not receive too many calls. Also mind, the many appointment remindings, your banks, my kids schools, etc. use auto robo-calls to remind you staff, so I would not use a service that automatically block calls for me.
