I offer both. I provide information and the ability to understand and interpret it. Like Carol Williams said, information is out there, education is knowing what to do with it.
Since you're a fellow techie, information is a dataset in a spreadsheet/SQL database/etc. Education is applying an algorithm, graph or an analytical model to make the data into "actionable intelligence." The common textbook example is sales stats. The sales numbers are just random data/information until you start comparing sales people to find the top salesman, or which products sell the most or what days and times are the busiest/least busy. That is education that lets you reward the top performer, have them mentor a new or lesser performer, stock more of one product and less of another or change your staffing levels or business hours.

One can become educated when they learn to interpret information. Information is everywhere. It's often free... and often worth that price.
My tagline was (is): Information is FREE. Knowledge, experience, and integrity are priceless.

I always try to offer information of value to potential clients and even other agents freely without requiring or expecting something in return. I think that should be the nature of the world to help freely

I offer both. If they want to be educated I take extra time and patience to get them there. Information does not have to be digested or understood.

Education, which to me means explaining until you get your point across vs spouting facts.

both. . . depending on the question or situation. . . some people need to be educated so they can make a decision and some people just need information to make a decision.
