I have had success receiving listing leads and closing the listing originating from my website.... and buyers have inquired via my website....

Absolutely! Facebook is my primary social media site and I've received a lot of closed business from Facebook. Keeping an active Facebook business page and then sharing those posts to your personal page, helps people to keep you top of mind when it comes to real estate.

I consider ActiveRain to be social media.  Yes I have clients who "found" me "online" and even though they don't say the name I know this forum is the source. 

Social media does a great job at reminding those acquaintances i already have that what i do and that i am there for their real estate needs. It also reaches friends of "friends" and new clients. I like to use social media to post my AR blogs for added exposure

For me it's about branding. I get 75% of my business via repeat and referral business.

I don't technically advertise on social media sites but even still we get leads that come from different social media sites.  I'd say this is considered a social media site and I've worked with buyers from here. -Kasey

But that yes could be very deceiving. Being there does not mean you will get business. You really need to know why you are there and what those who are there with are receptive to.

Some will say it's a numbers game meaning the more stuff one publishes the greater the opportunity to snag a suspect.

But I'll ask, "Did you respond to the 'pay mortgage early' solicitation or the 'Ready to get more Facebook leads' ad to the right of this screen?

Both are wrong messages to the wrong audience but 'it's a numbers game!"

However, in a different environment, looking into Facebook ads would be a good thing.

Facebook ads work.  And they are not that expensive.
