Our Right Honourable Prime Minister met with the United States President earlier this week. He wore a colourful tie. His family is living in a house on the Governor General's property because labour is fixing the Prime Minister's house.  The government uses cheques or EFT to pay the suppliers.

The "very good spell checker" claimed there are FIVE spelling errors in the previous paragraph.  All of those so-called errors are actually correctly spelled.

Thus, the spell checker does not know how to spell a wide range of commonly used words.

There was a time the spellchecker was down. Where were you when we needed you the most?

Spell check is great but proof reading is important too. It you spell the wrong word correctly then that word messes with the meaning.

Yep I just need to be a little more consistent. As Joe Pryor  points out proofreading is important. You might spell everything correctly but it might not make sense, and using the wrong word (their vs. ther) won't get picked up. Wish they allowed us to add words to the dictionary

Spell check catches some but not all. Nothing beats re-reading what you are typing before you post. The grammar police remind me of this often

I didn't... I hate spell checkers... I've found them to be incorrect. I prefer my own spelling and if I'm really stymied, I'll look it up.

I know!  It is a great feature!  I almost used two eyes of newt in my last spell and it corrected me!  Thank God for that!  The love potion would have been disasterous!

Ha Ha! There are a few words that still trouble me. If I didn't use spell checker I would never catch them.

It reminds me my struggle with my iphone, it does spell check by changing the meaning:) 

I now their is won butt often forget to utilities it.

Use it often when I am fatigued or just awoke. It does help!

Thank you.  I do use the spell checker a lot ... not 100% of the time. It does correct words incorrectly.

I spell check - or sometimes use a quick Google search to verify a spelling. Helps so much with credibility to have your words in your post/blog spelled correctly.

Judging from some of the posts....I would guess few realize that ABC is not just the first letters of the alphabet !

If someone only knows ONE WAY to spell a word can not be so incredibly smart!
