Before someone can apply for Broker's license, they are required to work under a broker for a specific time!

It's the law in Idaho.  What Lynnea Miller said.  We call the Principal Broker the Designated Broker here.

It is the real estate law in Oregon.  Until an agent is a Principal Broker themselves, they must be affiliate with a brokerage managed by a Principal Broker.

If you are a full broker you do not need to be affiliated with a principal broker.

In my jurisdiction, real estate brokers and sales representatives must be affiliated with a real estate brokerage pursuant to the law in my jurisdiction.

In Colorado you have to work under a broker for a minimum of two years.

Not necessary, you get get a broker license yourself and be your own agent.

It's the law in AZ.  Consider this - a brand new agent should NOT be allowed to go out and do business on his/her own without broker supervision.  That would be scary.....just saying.

State licensing requirements specify that a new affiliate must work under the supervision of a broker. When you get enough experience and knowledge you can apply to be the broker and accept all the responsibility that goes along with it.

So they can be paid ... commissions are only paid to the brokerage who then pays the agent.  In CA an agent needs experience with a broker/age before they can apply for a broker license. 

In our state you need two years as a associate broker first before you can be a broker.  You need someone to follow up on your mistakes.

Any realtor would know the answer to this question.. and why are you hiding behind a blue head as anonymous?

It is the law that an agent has to be associated with a principal broker.

They have no choice.

It's a closed shop and you gotta join the union.
If you look deeper regarding the role of the broker and/or franchise you will begin to see the picture more clearly.
