If I'm inviting them to a special NextDoor only event (open house) I would. I know we advertise garage sales and private sales of items there; but, I'm concerned that a MLS ad would violate the intent of the site. I may talk about the new listing and that I need a local gardener or something less direct, but an ad would likely piss of the neighbors. All Realtors should have an account there though, it's free networking with your neighbors and good local crime or neighborhood news info.

Nextdoor is not the venue to post anything real estate related.  Be a fly on the wall but don't present yourself as anything other than a homeowner or neighbor and you will be fine.  Mention real estate and you'' more than likely be slammed.  I saw this play out with one agent on our local market who injected real estate into every comment and it was not a pretty site. 

The rules of each community vary by who runs it.  In one area I had the owner post an open house listing.  The piece was taken down and their account was kicked out because the house was vacant, even though they owned it.  I got into a bit of an argument with the site admin over that.  Did get some traffic from it though before it was taken down, several people thanked me for advertising it there and wondered why it disappeared.  They told me that they disliked the admin, bit of a control freak.

In my neighborhood people post listings, open houses, etc. fairly frequently.  No issues there now.  A prior admin used to get on people's cases.  Very high school.... sometimes pre-school.

Don't believe in using NextDoor. Discussed it with a few agents years ago & your info always came across as being a pariah to the other homeowners. Like you were only there for business not the good of the community.

That site has not worked well in Oklahoma City. No buzz or follow through.

NO!  I see how other agents are treated in mine - they're not very well-respected for their pushy advertising. I offer assistance with vendors and interact with the neighbors but, that's about it.

No, I have not.  I am an admin for my neighborhood.  I try to answer any real estate related questions that may come up, but I don't advertise.  They are in the beginning stages of allowing commercial advertising on the site.  I think that would be a better way to go for advertising, similar to Facebook.

Last that I checked Nextdoor did not have much of a presence in our area.

We just "owned" our business in our neighborhood since we are located in our neighborhood. We just got approved. I live our next door neighbors. It is even more fun because we know so many of our neighbors and most have lived here for many many years. We go walking together, kids play together, etc. I would check the TOS first. I would post an open house if we get a listing in our neighborhood, of course, again, I would first check the TOS.
