I am usually up very early and value those two hours before turning on my phone. I email past clients often.

Yes, Nat Wallen! I do block time each day for that - and I make myself stick to that time too!

Thankfully I have my monthly newsletter that at least keeps me focused once a month.

I am terrible at keeping in touch.
When we bump into each other at meetings we enjoy the reconnect, or if either of us has something important to say we pick up the phone.
Those uncomfortable time wasting calls just for the sake of filling a time block serve no purpose other than to waste time and diminish the relationship.

I don't time block it. I use to have a system to remind myself to send them a handwritten card once a year and connect with a few every week. I don't do that anymore. I just tend to keep in touch with who I want to, we send out Christmas cards and CMA's once a year

I used to email, followed by phone call, invite for lunch or coffee. I have been off-schedule for several months now. Need to catch up!

I have my routines, but I've never time blocked. I touch all my paqst clients at least 30x per year and I'm on auto-pilot doing it.

Nat yes we do and we have for many, many years consitently through calls, emails, newsletters, coffees, lunch, client events - all kinds of ways. And it's fun!

Staying in touch with past clients ... it is a soft touch email every three weeks. I am not one to call my people and ask for referrals. They know who I am and where to find me. If they need me, they will call. And they do call. I just closed a past client from 10 years ago. I am now working with a past client from 5 years ago. When we are good and memorable ... they remember us.

I do not book specific time but staying in touch is part of my plan, in a variety of ways.

Yes, my CEO and COO hours are blocked.
CEO Hours-database, closed clients-keep in touch calls.
COO Hours-prospecting and active customer service calls.

I do not time block.
I do organize past clients into priority groups.
The highest priority group talks to me every month, sometimes more frequently. Why? Because they are "TOP OF MY MIND."
I find the 'touch' to be completely natural and inspired by an interest that they have revealed. Keeping them TOP OF MIND means I don't have to fabricate a message and reason to call. Since they all know I am an avid runner, they most often call me to share with me who dropped dead running recently.. Now how great is that!
The other two groups I do schedule and most touches are technology with at least two calls a year, or an event based call.
For example, I recently sponsored an exhibition at the local art museum and invited those from the B group to attend as the VIP they are, to get them to up their game and get into the A group. The A group. Well they have lunch with the mayor and me.
