Yes I was a state certified instructor for 5 years. I taught Client Communications and Risk Reduction for Commercial Real Estate Institute in Phoenix. Loved it. I also taught MLS and Zipform training classes. I always wanted to teach more but I was too busy--and you have to do a lot of traveling around to make the same money that I make doing deals.

Yes, many times, many subjects.

I learned that most agents know very little...particularly about agency.

I am certified to teach in Oklahoma and I enjoy it a lot. At $100 an hour it is less than what I make in real estate but I enjoy sharing and it makes you do comprehensive research and that is personally helpful.

Yes, we used to have regualr classes at our office and i was able to fill in for a couple of weeks when the instructor had surgery. It was nice to be able to share actual experiences in real estate to what the course material was. That was a lot of years ago, but i would do it again

There are a few classes that I would like to teach.

Unfortunately the agents who need to learn these things are not interested in any training beyond the required CE classes.

I am not a club certified teacher.

However I do teach.

How was the experience?

Depends on who you teach.
The hardest class are those who possess the most costly words. Those words are 'I KNOW.'  As soon as these agents hear a familiar word, the are lost into their own I KNOW story. They ARE unteachable.  UNLESS you change up the lexicon and the destination.

However, there is a group that is teachable. These 'mooney-eyed' students cling to every word and will start the race before the start flag is dropped.

Then, there is the first time home-buyer, wanting to take a sip from the real estate well, but too often listening to the monkey on their shoulder.

It a great experience for those with a teachers heart whose students are teachable.

A moving experience!

Yes... I've helped train many agents... contracts... how to hold an open house... how to create a CMA... how to handle floor-time... that sort of thing.

I've found it very rewarding (not financially), and in preparing for each class, have often learned something I didn't know (or at the very least didn't remember).
