We get invaded more by the Zonies from AZ than Spring Breakers...they skip us and go to Mexico.

It doesn't affect us here in Charlotte, but closer to the ocean it might, although it's cooler there at spring break time than in Florida.

Reminds me of our city council, in a college town with 10,000 good college kids they focus on the half dozen bad ones and impose very restrictive laws to clearly discriminate against college kids.

Yes. Many families in my area head down to your state, Florida, for the March break which is starting tonight. Enjoy all of the Canadians!!! We will enjoy a lighter rush hour for the week but it will still last for up to three hours in the morning and another three hours in the evening.

For us, spring break means tourists and potential buyers. We don't have added crime like they would in Florida. It is an opportunity to work with new clients.

"Woman flashes to shocked onlookers" umm... no, they weren't shocked. That's SOP for those events since before I was in High School. That's like saying "Man shocked woman flashed him for beads at Mardi Gras."

We own in Destin and the locals hate spring break because the unsupervised kids go wild and have destroyed many properties. It seems every year the new group tries to out do last year's group with outlandish behavior. That said, Destin is not as bad as Panama City for attracting the kids.

Fred,
Yes it does, we have had one college wave already and they will be gone this Sunday. The next wave is on their way. And I just saw a bus from our town taking on a group of UCSB college taking a group to Las Vegas...
Our police department and sheriff's department is very vigilant. They don't tolerate much craziness. A

Jennifer Mackay et al:
I should mention - Panama City Beach cracked down on Spring Break drunkenness a couple of years ago - they now promote the season as "Family Friendly".
Fort Lauderdale ditched Spring Break a long time ago (they were the original spring break destination, after getting PR from the 1960 movie, "Where The Boys Are").
Daytona Beach also deterred the troublemakers (interestingly, Bike Week, which draws hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists from across the USA, is tamer than the College Crowd).
Florida wants tourists and visitors to have a great time - but Florida cities and beach towns will no longer tolerate out-of-control behavior during "Spring Break".
